So sad. Back in the 80's they used to shoot all of the photos for their flyers & ads in a little studio in the downtown Bay store in Calgary. They were distributed all across Canada. As a gal in grade 11 it was a great part time job that paid $50/hr. Better than any other job for a student.

She’s supposed to represent the people of this province, not attempt to claim control over land that doesn’t belong to her. That land is subject to Treaty rights, and those rights are protected under the Constitution. They aren’t optional. They aren’t symbolic. They are binding.

Bill 54 isn’t just bad legislation. It’s wholly un-Canadian. It’s a disgraceful act that undermine the very agreements that define our country and dismisses the sovereignty of Indigenous Nations in a way that’s both dangerous and deeply disrespectful.

You can be proud to be Albertan and still speak up. In fact, that’s exactly what this moment demands.

Silence from civic and business leaders on this doesn’t protect our future. It erodes it. We’re accountable not just for what we build as a province but for what we allow to stand unchallenged. This isn’t just politics. It is a clear line being crossed and we need to say so.

Just don't. I'll continue to like the photos where photographers have to camp out, pre-plan and execute a long exposure at just the right time with the right skill (that has taken years to achieve) to capture actual magic as opposed to the lazy artificial way.
