I’ve had a really REALLY shitty week for lots of reasons & I’m drained as hell / pretty fragile BUT. But. the temperature where I live has dropped to 14c and it’s raining and I could cry I’m so happy. I hate summer. I cannot wait to be cold and cosy and no longer default exhausted & overstimulated !

I never considered myself a perfectionist until I started taking my writing seriously again & learned that, for whatever reason (I suspect my OCD factors in) I am VERY much a perfectionist. but that holds me back. allowing myself to just word vomit, knowing it doesn’t need to be “right” first time -

The two best bits of writing advice I could ever give are: 1) know how your story ends before you start writing it 2) for your very first draft, write it as poorly as you need to just to get it on to paper. doesn’t matter how shoddy, you can even make it bad on purpose to make yourself laugh.

in the last few years I have genuinely reached a mindset of feeling very secure in myself, no longer desiring any kind of external validation & no longer taking other people’s behaviour personally it’s taken me a long time to get to this point but it’s genuinely so freeing & feels really good!!
