It’s hard to see many developers taking the time to build different versions of their iOS app for the US and international stores. Apple knows that, which is exactly why it has relaxed the rules on the US storefront only.

That’s not including the ports to other systems like Mac.

Social media could be radically improved by forbidding paywalled journalism. It’s beyond tedious to click on a link only to be asked for money to read it. For avoidance of doubt I don’t question that journalism is worth paying for. I’m just not interested in being repeatedly spammed.

The new Mack launched coaster in Portugal looks really interesting. I see a day trip in my future.

Voted down tonight at a meeting where I suggested that we should avoid having three different spellings of our organisation name in printed media. There’s no accounting for taste.

HERO vs ZERO I'm in a state of shock & still trying to process yesterday's shameful, traitorous debacle in the WH: A DAY THAT WILL LIVE IN INFAMY. Our standing in the world has plummeted overnight, but the repercussions will be felt forevermore. #SlavaUkraini🇺🇦 #ShameOnUS🇺🇸

Whatever one may think of last nights clash in the White House, it’s fascinating to see the different takes - Twitter is almost without exception in support of Trump, while this site is almost entirely in support of Zelenskyy.

Editorial: A president just disrespected America in the Oval Office. It wasn’t Zelensky

We went to look at it on 11 February 2017. There were no coasters at the time, so we didn't stop.

In 2025, I’d love to be able to click on a link without (a) a cookie warning or (b) a subscribe to continue reading message after one paragraph. Is that too much to ask?

Right, men of the world, it's just about time to start your Christmas shopping!

This is something that always amazes me about emulation. You can have some pretty dramatic bugs and some software works fine. The first version of my Colecovision Emulator inadvertently had a 20MHz Z80 and it really wasn’t a problem….

You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by the speed of light, in which case you energy.

Have you thought about expanding to a full PC emulator at some stage? Seems like you’re doing things that the competition can’t or doesn’t do.

Gotta love Irish rail. I had eleven minutes for a train connection at Dublin Connolly and it wasn’t enough.

Closely related, companies they send from a noreply@. I have a filter for those straight to spam.

Popped in to have a look at the other site briefly. My feed contains several posts from Space Karen, despite the fact that I don’t follow him. Glad that there’s a refuge….

Discovered this week that a well known Irish website rejects connections from VPNs by giving an incorrect password message. Several resets later their support told me what the actual problem was. Sigh.

Sure, I can do that. But I often pay cash, which means I have to queue a second time to get my change. With luck I’ll be on an EV by the time this scourge is universal anyway….

I’ve noticed that prepay fuel pumps are becoming a thing in Ireland. Fortunately, my local petrol station is not impacted yet. Long may it stay that way. I will not frequent a prepay station as long as I have alternatives.

Downvoted on Reddit today for arguing that roller coasters which have operated for 20+ years (such as Desperado) are not “rare”.

I really wish that customers would send me feature requests directly rather than filing them as one-star reviews on the App Store.

It’s getting tough to enjoy F1 these days. A minor transgression with yellow flags should not result in an effective penalty of thirty seconds and eight places.

Trying out this app for a while as I've gotten a bit tired of the level of nastiness on the other site. Hopefully this one will be better. Let's see!
