I was hoping the bugs filled the frame higher, but oh well, next time ill bring a wide angle lens and i can go closer to the sea mess and get a bottom up view. Tho i would likely need to control the camera remotely.

I was lying down up wind about 20 feet from this pile of sea mess which had been baking in the sun all morning, attracting gnats or whatever. This western sandpiper began climbing to the top, so I slowed my shutter speed, set my camera to F/20 to increase the depth of field, stacked 50 shots, and:

Great morning with the shorebirds. First time I've put in a solid lying down on the sand session in about a month and a half. The heat was getting a little unbearable by 10am, so I'm glad I was able to get down early. 🪶

For the next week I'll be aggressively moving away from protein drinks and starting next Saturday the hope is I'm eating real meals and normal snacks. So less tons of beans, more normal beans with normal vegetables, with some cheese. here's the updated list. eggs got kicked back a week.

I've seen a couple shots of black phoebes with rainbow wings similar to hummingbirds. I've been trying to get this for about a year now but can never find one at the right level where it's reoccurring foraging and flying through the sunset. I came close tonight, but found it a little bit too late 🪶

Here's the original, where I did what I normally do with birds' eyes reflections. Increase the ISO so the rest of the image is overexposed and the eye's properly exposed. I tried to get 500 ISO because of the way the Z8 sensor operates, but missed. better luck next time!

The shot info where the shutter speed was one 125th of a second the aperture was at 5.6 in the iso was 450. This is the edited shot so it shows as one megapixel but my camera has 45ish

Tonight's squirrel eye sunset. This squirrel was on a tree little bit deeper in the park , so you have a more robust view of trees in front of it, and due to the angle there's a little bit of a selfie in there.

Wow that was, quite frankly, the worst sanderling photoshoot of my life. It was only 85°, which comparably isn't bad , but there was absolutely zero win. I didn't go on the sand until this little guy had to start taking a dip in the ocean and I couldn't say no 🪶
