I design experiences, and vote for the climate in every election. Big fan of #bioswales. Snarky/earnest in equal measure. Views don't reflect those I work with. james.nisbet.nz

Why does nobody talk about this? Is nobody aware that a holiday in Australia is now far more expensive than it has been in the past decade? Our currency sucks ass, and the gap grows into a chasm. Back on track eh? #nzpol

Shutting down a start-up is always a hard and painful decision. All those hours and all that hope, coming to an abrupt and unsatisfying end. With GoodyGood we wanted to do it a little differently - rather than forgotten, we'll keep it running as an 'open letter' for what we achieved. goodygood.co
All those small steps added up

Across all archived profiles, GoodyGoods funded this much
climate action together. Not bad eh? Go us. Go you.

God this is shameless and unbelievably cringe. All the reviews on this new Kathmandu product are people begging for free stuff. Devalues Kathmandu's entire review system that these were approved
5 stars: Overland Track review
Happy to test it out to the Overland Track in a couple of weeks!

5 stars: Tester available
Happy to take one to Hinchinbrook in a few weeks if more testers needed. They look impressive as does the new hiking range.

Omg lol that National solar crap has an interest rate of roughly 2% below floating rates. That's a lot worse than the banks are offering of their own volition. Just a totally weak sauce policy from a weak sauce political party
"The interest rate would be higher. While you're able to get very low rates from the banks at present, the spokesperson said the scheme would be about 2 percent below floating rates. At the moment, those are about 5.8 percent."

Marc nails it: This is the cost of inaction
There was an election. Christopher Luxon said National was committed to the Paris target multiple times in the lead-up. After the coalition formed, it systematically. dismantled nearly every. part of the climate, policy framework that had enabled New Zealand to so successfully close the gap on meeting its targets in just six years. Neither in the waning days of the Labour government nor in the early days of the coalition did we see any public sign that New Zealand was preparing to secure offshore mitigation.

Did everyone catch that Act are looking to pull us out of Paris? This would tank our ability to export and badly hurt our "100% Pure" reputation. Truly a braindead suggestion #nzpol Let's also not forget agriculture is one of the most reliant industries on a stable climate...
Meanwhile the ACT Party announced an election policy on Wednesday to change New Zealand’s commitments under the Paris climate change agreement. ACT would issue a new Nationally Determined Contribution that commits Kiwi farmers to “realistic targets”, the party’s agriculture spokesperson, Andrew Hoggard, said.

“If the Paris Agreement cannot accommodate targets that reflect the real warming impact of New Zealand's emissions, then New Zealand should leave it.”

Asked about this at Fieldays, Luxon said his coalition Government had decided to remain signed up to the Paris Agreement because exporters would be penalised on the international market if New Zealand left.

Love to see these fighting words from Kāpiti Council about our anti-democracy government haveyoursay.kapiticoast.govt.nz/LocalGovernm...
This is a significant issue for Kāpiti. While the Government has indicated community views aren't needed, we disagree. Our neighbouring councils are working at pace, so we are too. Your voice will help inform our way forward.

We recognise the process and timeframes set by Government aren't realistic and don't encourage a true democratic process. Despite this, we'll stay actively involved to ensure our community has a strong voice in the conversation.

Left: can't believe this govt ripped up our policies and replaced them with cruelty Center Left: maybe we should aim for bipartisanship for important policies Far left: WTF TRAITOR If we can't even START the conversation about this, nothing will ever improve. Incredible that this isn't obvious
Dog "no take only throw" frisbee meme.

Pane 2: Pragmatic compromise

Imagine looking at our current government and thinking to yourself "yep I'll have some more of that please" Everything sucks on basically every metric. It even sucks more for rich people lol I guess the cognitive dissonance is probably still strong enough to blame Labour somehow, facts be damned

What's crazy is this level of mental gymnastics is completely invisible to the people performing it. They have no idea at just how deranged they actually are by convincing themselves both sides are just as bad as each other. Same thing here in New Zealand. Hear it all the time. Depressing

Has two modes - triage mode and inventory mode. Triage mode is simple toggles: skip/on special/need Inventory mode is more like tracking quantities of things that drive the triage statuses Here's inventory mode:
