Honestly one of the worst films I’ve ever seen.

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 1h

I worked on the checkout in Sainsbury’s. On my first day a guy told me they had a great pension plan - my life flashed before my eyes. A woman laughed at me because I didn’t know what a pomegranate was. My 2nd day I told them my granny had died (she had but years ago) and I had to return to Ireland.

Yeah, big fan here. Love how slippery Hal is 😂

I’ve literally posted a link to the review.

It’s brilliant but pure nightmare fuel

If he scares you then BELIEVE ME, there’s a lot worse after they meet him.

This is great news for 4K fans. A masterpiece. 👍🏻😊

Not just the worst film I’ve seen at the cinema this year, a contender for one of the worst films ever made. Abysmal on every level. Takes a poltergeist story and injects it with all the excitement of a visit to the post office on a Tuesday afternoon. I’m actually a bit lost for words. DIRE!!!

I enjoy a good investigative journalism movie and on that level alone there’s much to enjoy here. Sadly when the outcome of your movie is basically “and nothing changed for anyone” it’s hard to be too enthusiastic about it. Overwritten too as per usual with Sorkin. Just ok.

Damien Rice playing Dublin next March as part of a 25th anniversary tour of O. I think I’ll make the effort.

Going to The Social Reckoning today as there’s nothing else on (that I haven’t already seen). I’m expecting to dislike it but sometimes that works out well.

Maybe living in a lake for 15 years made him a bit crazy???

First episode was surprisingly good fun. I’ll watch more.

Almost a year and a half after its USA release, High Society gets a UK/Ireland 4K release this November.

Oh wow, having heard so many positive things about this, what a massive disappointment. A dull, talky bore with a horribly annoying soundtrack (not music - computer beeps and whistles) and lots of eye rolling 50’s chauvinism. When a space monster finally shows up it’s invisible 🙄 Not for me at all.

A couple of shows I enjoy are back today. Not that I don’t have enough to watch as it is but 👍🏻😊

This is good news. Very happy for the staff and the customers.

Still annoyed by THAT scene in the new season of Time. Utterly ridiculous, I can’t understand how such otherwise terrific writers thought it was a good idea. Even the actors must have thought “this is a bit much”.

Yeah I was disappointed when I read that initial review as I know it’s a project he’s been trying to make for years.

The first review I read of Brad Bird’s Ray Gunn (Variety?) said it was bland generic animated fare. Since then every review has been a rave. Looking forward to it.

For the most part season 3 of Time was a wonderfully compelling drama. Sadly, midway through ep 3 it stepped uncomfortably into misery porn and a few plot points felt like unrealistic wish fulfilment. Still, incredibly good and a must watch for fans of this type of drama.

Oh yeah, Hathaway is in everything this year but at least she’s a fairly mainstream actress. Hüller seems to have gone from niche art house actress to “coming soon Sandra Hüller and Jason Statham in Hijack on the Moon”.

I still think Eric the Crap is a much better name.

010

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

I really like Sandra Hüller but why does it feel like she has 20 films out this year?

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 14/10/2026

I keep seeing clips of an American comedian (young white guy) and he’s one of those talk to the audience comedians. Comes across as a real cocky dude just ad-libbing on stage. Desperately unfunny, just tell some fucking jokes.

010

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

It looks like a typical generic fantasy film i.e. not good.

120

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

A Barney the dinosaur type children’s tv character turns psychotic and starts murdering the children and assorted animatronic characters on his show. A fun idea but the film tries to do too much without getting the basics right - it should have been a gory splatter fest but it’s all much too tame.

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Since this was announced 2 months ago I’ve checked EVERY DAY to see if it was available to preorder. I’m nothing if not dedicated.

010

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

It’s showing as available there but people who’ve ordered from them are reporting that their orders haven’t moved. There’s obviously been some kind of delay with it but it’s odd that Warner Archive haven’t released a statement. Just wait and see I suppose.

100

Tom of Ligeia 🧟‍♂️ @baloobas.bsky.social · 13/10/2026

Anyone know what’s happened to the Warner Archive release of Ryan’s Daughter? Due out today but it’s never been available to order from Amazon and there’s no reviews online of it anywhere. It’s been my most wanted title on 4K for a few years now so it makes sense there’s a problem with the release 🙄

I really wasn't expecting SUCH a dark tale though tbh, in my head it was going to be a romance with moments of tragedy.

That steelbook design is nice (so many are awful) but to charge €20 extra is really taking the piss.
