AI is at the stage the Victorians were at when people were registering patents for things like "A pneumatic device to allow a gentleman to raise his top hat to a lady he passes in the street without removing his hands from his pockets".

In Jean Shin’s Tidal Crossing, the artist presents three sets of military-style nets inside the arches of one of the terminal’s skybridges. Between each net, the artist has added camo banners overlaid with images of flora from the many places where the United States has waged wars.

JB Priestley's 'An Inspector Calls' never dates: all the ways the rich kill the poor and men exploit women. Brilliant cast led by a quietly mesmerising David Thewlis as Inspector Goole in this BBC film adaptation which lifts the action out of its stage-bound original. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/epis...

Drama. The mysterious 'Inspector Goole' interrupts a wealthy family's party to tell them a young woman died of suicide that night. But what does that have to do with them?

Image shows the cover of the book ‘The Films of Aleksandr Rou: Father of Soviet Fairy-Tale Cinema’ by Deborah Allison, plus an extract of a review by Marina Rojavin, published in Slavic and East European Journal, which reads: ‘The book is a fantastic companion for both specialists and amateurs. After the author’s analysis, even if you have already watched Rou’s films, you will want to watch them again. I hope that many people read this book and that it inspires them to watch Rou’s films with an appreciative eye.’

Hoe zou de geschiedenis eruitzien als vrouwen hun
liefdes vrij hadden mogen beleven?

What would history look like if women had been
free to live out their love? This question gave rise to *Álbum de desesquecimentos* by the Brazilian artist Mayara Ferrão (BR, 1993), which literally translates as ‘Album of Unforgetting’.
The series consists of AI-generated images
depicting Black and Indigenous women tenderly
kissing one another. Through this, Ferrão commemorates forms of intimacy that have been systematically erased or rendered unthinkable in colonial discourse. Using AI, Ferrão evokes a love that was never recorded, yet did indeed exist. *Album de desesquecimentos* invites you not only to imagine new futures, but also a liberated past: a past in which love between Black women was given space and endured, even amidst structural violence.

Jeanette Winterson
Winterson said
"Show me a child doesn't want to paint a picture. A child who doesn't want to hear a story and tell it back to you. Kids sing and dance. They love music. They invent games and characters. They will build a kingdom of pots and pans. Then we put them through a utility education and say that the arts are a luxury item. The arts develop our natural creativity. If creativity is a luxury, then being human is a luxury."

Coleridge's The Rime of the Ancient Mariner, although full of religious references, is basically a full-on ecological fable. The curse that falls on the Mariner when he shoots the albatross for sport is only lifted when he is finally able to see the beauty of the sea creatures and bless them.
