Went to my favorite store, the play-it-again sports in St. Paul, and found a next size up bat for my younger kid in great shape and in his required colorway (he literally will not use a bat that's not green). Cleaned it up and gave it a custom tape job and we're looking 🔥

sometimes i cry bc of how much my stupid cat loves me

a photo of my stupid black cat sitting on my chest/neck, such that she is almost completely covering my face. You can just see one of my eyes peeking over her. Was moving a box of my dead friend's records last night and ran across this gem

my mom says she did her first painting at age 2 or 3, when she used her mom's lipstick to make squares of color on the striped wall paper in her mom's bedroom. this is the painting of my mom's that's in my bedroom now.

okay, here is a side-by-side of the line where i have washed vs where i haven't. keep in mind it rained all last night so both sides are still a little damp; the contrast might be even higher when everything is dry!

weathered deck boards. the right side of the boards has been washed and is lighter and brighter. there's a very clear line where i have stopped washing, and left of that line, the boards are very dark with weathering and grime.

so last year we shoved this railroad tie into the gap. if you look closely here you can see how the bottom fence pole that goes across is not anchored to the ground in any way. it takes two large adults stepping on it to get it level to the ground, to give you an idea of the force needed here.
