More questing in Velen today. The Shrieker contract, turns out, usually a rough one to do right at level 8 because he has a relatively large health pool and a big swing radius, well, this time I'm running a sign build and I just Igni'd him repeatedly. Fried chicken! #witcher3

Most of today, aside from yet more HDR tinkering, was spent exploring Velen and knocking out sidequests. I've done this so many times, I was delighted to discover this rock carving I had never found before. Hopefully tomorrow can get back on the main quest. #witcher3

No matter how many playthroughs I do, Yoana's Monster deck is always an early stumbling block. I just want your card so I can move on with my life! #witcher3

Really annoying spot in Velen where you have to fight not one but two Foglets at once. Had to pull out all the stops, oils, potions, bombs, signs. Took a few deaths but we got it. #witcher3

"Nilfgaard recently started a war. Unprovoked. So do us both a favor and stop moralizing." I love this scene. Voorhis is a criminally underused character, I wish we could have gotten more of him. Also, have to love getting a second bath scene before Act 1 even properly starts.

My wife got tickets in the company suite tonight as recognition for her work. I've been to about 25 games in my life, but this is a new experience...

Warhammer 40k Rogue Trader is an incredible RPG, and I finally got around to finishing it today. Took several restarted playthroughs before I finally found a build that I loved and felt comfortable with the combat system, but this was an incredible game.

Bought new dice at the con, figured I might as well go all out for the new campaign and get a custom tray to match. (The stone is Yooperlite, hence the theme)

Hello, old friend. It's that time again.

Took a real late night and then another afternoon of tweaking, but the end result is a Starfield ship that I'm actually very proud of how it came out. I'm slowly getting better at sculpting and not falling into my old tendencies. For a class B, this ship can do it all.

Alright with Crimson Desert behind me it's time to get back into Starfield. I've got my mods cut down to a reasonable 115 for the moment and am about 12 hours into my Free Lanes/Terran Armada start. Sucks that I have to start from scratch again but that's life in Bethesda world.

Ben Pascoe @badger8th.bsky.social · 29/04/2026

After 120 hours of game time, I've finally finished the main story of Crimson Desert. One of the most intoxicating open world games I've ever played. Story was meh, but the open world was worth it. Still potentially another 100+ hours to go to see and do everything.

Midwest Gaming Classic was a great time. We had so much fun last year we decided to turn it into a full blown GameStop reunion for everyone I worked with back in Houghton. There were 9 of us, legendary weekend. 7571 may be gone, but store family endures.

New drip for the weekend. Found one piece of the Scorchflame set and decided I wanted to get the whole thing and start upgrading it. Not wild about the way the helm looks but the buffs are good and the cape is gorgeous. #crimsondesert

After 265 hours total, 5 abandoned playthroughs, finally did a 100% completionist run of Baldur's Gate 3 to the end. 112 hours for this character. AND I did it on Tactician with the full party/difficulty mods. Ending the year finishing a game I've meant to for a long time.

First time going to Midwest Gaming Classic this weekend with @shnowmon.bsky.social and my buddy Austin. I was really blown away by all the stuff they had. Spent all night Friday playing classic games on every system imagineable and then scooped a ton of sweet merch and took in some panels today.

There's always one game, and only one game, I'm going to install first on a new system. Can't believe this is running at 60 fps on a device I'm holding in my hands. Incredible.
