This scene has an argument that’s at the heart of the bacon book. We’ve seen a decline in the popularity of haute cuisine. #hatm

Do you #hatm root for any of these characters besides Margot? I kind of root for the actor’s assistant.

#HATM I love the idea that his diners don’t “get” bread. They don’t deserve it.

#HATM, they perfected this swordfight choreography so well that the final cut was like two minutes. Rob Reiner couldn’t let the greatest swordfight in history be so short. They went back and choreographed more.

#HATM, Cary Elwes sprained his ankle pretty seriously riding Andre’s ATV. He did the “greatest swordfight” in history on this bum ankle.

#HATM, Wallace Shawn assumed he was going to get fired. Andre the Giant was always in so much back pain that he had an ATV to get around and drank a bottle of cognac a night to “ease” his pain.

#HATM, hard to believe this was the more famous Sarandon at one time. Wallace Shawn also hated his performance. He complained he couldn’t do Sicilian. Rob Reiner assured him that, funny enough, this Sicilian sounds “just like you.”

Do you chicken brissil? If you are from Greenville in Butler County, Alabama, you do. It’s a smoked chicken with an emphasis on a tangy vinegar sauce. I was so glad to talk on Alabama barbecue to the Butler County Historical and Genealogical Society. It was such a great audience!

My great-great Uncle Fritz lived on the north shore, Manchester, and worked in Gloucester. We visited him three summers in a row- 97-98-99. I read it as an 11-year-old in one sitting. He knew the guys. Now, he was also a storyteller, but he probably did “know” these guys. #hatm
