With a statement like this, it makes it pretty clear that Golden would support the industry no matter what. Claiming people are doing this to make money is laughable. How's that working out for them? 2/4

It’s a sad state of affairs, but I truly believe that no one is happier when a whale dies than the interest groups who turn every whale death — regardless of the cause — into an opportunity for lawfare that lines their own pockets. These are people who make their living catering to wealthy philanthropists who love to eat nice seafood, but apparently think they can have it without fishermen.

I haven’t been the Field Museum in 20 years, so I haven’t met Maximo, but for a brief time, they had one of these giraffatitans / brachiosaurus in the main hall and I was /awe/ struck. I didn’t care for them in my kid Dino phase, but adult Jay loves sauropods. Also, this took me all night.
