Hidden away in Barn Wood in Stoke Park, we stumbled across this forgotten Grade II listed #monument during a dog walk. Research revealed it was built between 1746-1763 as a #memorial to the 4th Duke of Beaufort. The Latin inscription translates as "Worth of Brotherly Love" #History #Bristol #Walks

The world's first widely used typeface was Textura, also known as Blackletter, developed around 1450. Based on the formal handwriting of medieval scribes & used by Johannes Gutenberg to print the famous Gutenberg Bible, marking the beginning of the printing revolution. #FontsOnFriday #History #Print
Johannes Gutenberg was a German craftsman and inventor from Mainz who revolutionised printing in the mid-15th century by developing a practical system of movable type. His greatest achievement was printing the Gutenberg Bible, a breakthrough that transformed the spread of knowledge and ideas across Europe.
