A 1985 Bentley Eight with paintwork which has seen better days. It hasn't been abandoned though.

A quick note for anyone curious about this slightly sorry-looking classic.

The lacquer has peeled terribly, but the car is fully taxed, insured and mechanically very sound other than the wheel arches and side bumper mounts. Being over 40 years old, it no longer needs an MOT, though it passed its last one cleanly.

It's only here temporarily while waiting its turn at the bodywork shop (which has been put back yet again). It's also under CCTV, so it hasn't been abandoned or forgotten. Again, fully insured AND taxed.

Once restored, it'll be back on the road properly - these old things aren't worth much, but they're lovely to drive, which is why it's being saved, rather than broken for parts.

A small tip from years ago, that people used to ask about: The once "posh" lambskin wool rugs which people used to love did not cost a fortune - they were just one cheap rug cut into four, and the faux-suede cushions were bargain Dunelm finds. Little touches can make any car special.

Thanks for reading - and apologies for the current state of the paint, the car will be gone soon - or at the very least, moved elsewhere. Thank you.
