I guess I'm pretty good at Fire Emblem, but I don't really know what that looks like? Like you watch someone good at FPS games and you can see their player tracking and precision aim is good. Someone good at platformers has a good sense of momentum and timing. What does 'good at FE' look like?

The music in the Obelisk Chamber changes a little every time you clear another route, building up with a new instrument every time. It's so so SO good. Fortune's Weave isn't a perfect product but the OST honestly doesn't have a single miss.

I suppose I should emerge from my Fortune's Weave thrall and talk about it a little bit. It's very very good, very engaging and engrossing storyline even though I'm only on one path at the moment (Cai's). Team composition is very odd, and probably the one black mark I have against it (minor).

Playing some good ol' Sim City. Figured I could leave the simulation running a little while to go get something to eat, and well... Probably should have built more than one single fire station, huh.

Vast swathes of the city are entirely consumed by fire.

I have a 65% approval rating, and 55% of the population believe the city's biggest problem right now is "fire". Which I guess is fair enough.

Rearranged EoSD soundtrack is a mixed bag... trying not to let "it's new therefore it's bad" influence me too much but they sound very busy and cluttered, a lot of additional noise that wasn't needed. New Voile is awful, but Patchy's theme still sounds good. Sakuya guitar sample sounds so cheap.

What a thoroughly rewarding challenge it was. I had a lot of fun and I've really improved my game. Some of those paralogues especially were so hard you could have fried an egg on my head from the heat. Highly recommend trying it, even on Hard if you don't fancy Maddening.

Byleth Solo? Finished it mate

The final boss of Silver Snow on Maddening difficulty: - has 4 health bars totalling 640HP - takes overall 85% reduced damage via her abilities as long as she has a barrier up - cannot take critical hits - barriers are impossible to break in one combat round - never takes counterattacks

I bought midgi an early birthday present and got 12 of these that someone had made (thanks to Jaybug for the tip). I got all the named ones plus the favourite teas of our 3H faves to try. I skipped the ones that are real eg chamomile... I'm sure it's a GOOD chamomile but I can get that anywhere.

Two Directs means two predictions

ZELDA DIRECT PREDICTIONS:
Opens up on our first real look at Newcarina. First ten minutes dedicated to it.
Let's get specific- it's the cutscene of the Deku Tree telling Link about the three goddesses creating the world/triforce and then HARD CUT to a flash of Dorf's face and his iconic N64 laugh over a black screen, followed by a montage of Recognisable Moments set to the hyrule field theme.
Followed by much of the same footage but narrated this time.
NS2 port of Link Between Worlds cmon
Doublepack of Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks with the fucken touchscreen controls removed, and society recovers
A free(mium) release of Four Swords Adventures "available today" that makes use of that GameChat feature where your face appears over your Link, BUT it's only available for like 3 months and then is removed from eshop forever and you can't play it any more
Some kinda game-n-watch or similar device, a trinket that costs three figures and I WANT ONE but I can't justify it
Very quick little reminder that most of the Zelda back catalogue is on NSO already, maybe a DK Challenge kinda event?
Last ten minutes is spent on the movie. A standard 3 minute trailer then the same footage again but narrated... intercut with behind the scenes footage with a very happy Miyamoto wandering around talking with people who look like if they don't laugh along with him he'll have them put to death.

NINTENDO DIRECT PREDICTIONS:
They just rerun the entire Zelda direct again to fill up the first 30 minutes (no I'm joking)

Fire Emblem comes out literally the week after so we'll open on that. Just like the ND before Three Houses came out, they spoil a pretty huge part of the story
They still don't tell us if it's pre or sequel though lol
It's narrated by Saint Cichol, who sounds strangely like Seteth
There's a blink-and-you'll-miss-it link to 3H which is HUGE (like Seiros in the background or Byleth's wandering around) and doesn't get explained at all
Two new characters we haven't seen before, one of them extremely hot and the other a weird awful gross man who looks like he leaves a trail of slime behind him
OKAY ENOUGH FIRE EMBLEM what else? I'll tell you:
FE is the last Major release we know about, so we're going to get the Next Big Hitter. If it's a Mario they won't show it until the end. Could be a Kirby, it's been a while now since whatever the 3d one was called.
They don't have a pokemon coming out in time for christmas, and that simply won't do. Obviously it's not THE new pokemon game, but at least a lil something with a pikachu on it to get that sweet sweet santa cash.
-Could be an NS2 version of Arceus?
At least three games with absolutely horrendous "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition" subtitles revealed with minor but neat new features. Very doubtful they'd do one for Three Houses. Maybe Engage, though.
I'd love for a mission pack or DLC or similar for the NS2 Starfox. Hopefully not just a pack of multiplayer maps but that's a possibility.
