I’m listening to another Hegseth hearing today. That man is the epitome of white male supremacy, privilege & everything wrong with it. He’s unable to have any kind productive or enlightening conversation, he doesn’t even try to hide his hate of women, POC & Democrats.

It’s long been my view that courts are important actors to bring in outlier states together and curb extremes, but when the Court becomes an extreme and a danger to majoritarianism, then it must be remade root and branch or forced to capitulate to a new political order. That time is now.

Given the argument that ended the VRA, I think it’s time liberals did some self reflection about the now decades long obsession with partisan polarization as the problem, as opposed to authoritarianism, extremism, oligarchy, and racism

The store in Cleburne has been slowly closing down for almost a year. They don’t stock meds any more - when you order a prescription or refill it takes a couple days or 5 to get the order because it’s shipped to Cleburne from somewhere else.

We must understand the racist political rhetoric, the erasure and attacks on Black history, the reinstalling of Confederate names and monuments, all go hand-in-hand as the Court and Congress legitimize the taking of political rights and the end of multiracial democracy itself.

More storms today, sans tornadoes. We are inside the yellow circle. High temps 30° lower than yesterday. There must be significant tornado damage in Cleburne, NWS sending survey team.

Glyphosate - Roundup - is being sprayed across national forests in record amounts in 2026. Trump even invoked the Defense Production Act to protect it. Our public lands are being poisoned. Wake up!🧪🌳 #ProudBlue #Voices4Victory

Whew! I think the worst part of the storm missed us. The tornado heading right for us dissipated. New one going west of us, hail not getting bigger than marble size (vs 4” reported north of us).

Sure feels like tornado weather. Looks like the tornado storm is tracking more south than east now.

Exactly. And we don’t have, probably will never have, enough trustworthy public evidence to confirm one way or the other.

I’ve decided a lot of these guys don’t believe the evil is likely bc they aren’t evil people. I believe evil people can be capable & likely. It’s not a conspiracy theory to acknowledge the possibility. J6, attacks on VZ & Iran weren’t kept secret but a whole lot of people were surprised.

It was an unsettling night in DC. I was there. Another alleged attack on Trump. Already corporate media is framing him as the victim while ignoring the political violence he has spent years inciting. I bring the receipts. The most powerful man in the world is not a victim & must be accountable.

I’ve ranted about anti HD truck complaints, but this is a legit complaint. TX has no restrictions on lift kit heights. Lifted trucks aren’t useful for anything other than drawing attention. I’ve seen some so tall that ladders are set up next to the driver’s door. Total waste of money & truck.

I was about 7 when I realized the Confederate flag represented something other than what I was taught. We were on vacation in NY. GA plate on the back of the car, Confederate flag on the front. Someone kicked in the flag plate. I figured it out from there. I changed, but family not so much.

Blisse, Ron & Cash. It’s not Penny hurt by coyotes, it’s Stuart. These 3 apparently saved his life. Stuart was caught by the throat & left hind. It appears the equines heard the ruckus & attacked. It’s their hoof prints mingled with coyote tracks. ❤️

Babs Thompson @babsthompson.bsky.social · 23/04/2026

Well, damn. We had another coyote murder. A baby goat this time. Sheldon. RIP. But the equines did their best to stomp the coyotes. It was quite a war - deep divots & slide marks mixed with coyote foot prints. Blisse & Cash didn’t quit, they chased the coyotes off the property.

This looks like my truck. Does it have handicapped tags? It could have me she was people watching. I have trouble getting out of any size vehicle. Getting in is not a problem. And, I need a “vehicle like this”, or I’d have bought a cheaper ride. I’m so tired of people judging truck drivers.

Daughter found a baby raven near the creek on Wednesday. No nest or parents in sight. He was weak & ant bitten, hiding under a bush. She brought him home - he’s doing very well. She has plan for raising & releasing him.

The joys of living in a secluded place - this ain’t one of them. Day 2 of dude on property across the creek shooting his various weapons. Goats are sitting it out, equines went to front pasture, dogs refuse to come out & I haven’t seen a cat since 7:30am. Sometimes he hits a target.
