It was definitely a cold, cold morning yesterday. This owl got his tongue stuck to a pole. No… wait that was me. 🥲 Luckily Great Grey Owls body mass is made up of 70% feathers. They are well adapted to hunt during cold snaps. #birds #birdphotography #owls

Meet Peregrine Falcon Maxine. I've known her for 4 years. During that time she's raised 9 offspring. She lost her mate last year & raised two kids as a single mom. A new male tried to woo her but she was busy with the kids & had no time for him until they left home. Now he too is deceased. #birds

We climbed up a neighbouring peak in the Sierra Huetor to get to this vantage point. When we got there we found gale force winds, wind chill factor below zero and blanket cloud. The clouds opened for about five minutes!
