Kurdish national liberation will only be won under the banner of Marx and Lenin.

You cannot truly understand Marx's Capital by replacing its language with a dumbed-down, everyday substitute. In fact, doing so is actively harmful.

Being young isn't really all that fun. Not in my experience, at least.

The most exhausting part about living with emotionally immature people is how you must modify the way you say anything — demand or critique — because as soon as they detect any "disrespect," everything else is forgotten; nothing else ever reaches their ears.

Gramsci is remembered as proof that misery produces geniuses. But it does not. He wrote despite the cell, his failing body, the silence of the world — NOT because of them. What we have are fragments of what he could have been, not the whole.

"I don't want to believe that social being determines consciousness. I don't want to believe that the passions follow as necessarily as a stone falls. I want to continue hating, because hate feels good, hate feels familiar. The selfish joy I derive from hate is more important to me than progress."

"Devil's advocate" is sophistry and unproductive. Look at a thing all-sidedly, don't try try to "make a case" for something that's just not true. Embrace and develop contradiction, don't try to distract with wordplay and bad-faith arguments.

"What are you hoping will come from this interaction? By acting this way (speaking, saying those things), what outcome are you trying to bring about? Do you think it's working? Are you even aware that that is a question you could, should ask?"

Misery is when you've been stuck for 6 months in a cramped room with four children, the older children hurt the younger ones; and in turn the younger ones hurt the older — and your heart breaks for them when they come crying to you, but you can't make them see beyond the rage and pain.

Clash Royale is a game only capitalism can make. Brilliant mechanics, genuine competitive depth — a chess player can see it immediately. All of it overridden (and thereby made meaningless) by the profit motive; spending comes to overshadow skill. Fun, but made unfair by design.

I wish my little brother understood that it's not his responsibility to raise our little brother — and that lashing out against our parents about it does not achieve anything in their minds other than deteriorate their image of him.

I will learn for learning's sake once I learn how to solve the issues in my life preventing me from learning, and I will do that once my life is in order and my mind is clear, my world peaceful! What? It's the year 2078?

Rain evokes tender truths masked behind lullabies; each season tells a different fact—but soon one comes to the highest of all conceptions: that his ears only hear the sound-waves of raindrops seen by his soul as the world-historical key of his social being.

Starvation takes multiple forms— that of nutritional, and that of emotional, for two. I've felt the hole of both, then only the former, then only the latter. Now, when the the first returns, I hope it screams louder than the second.

"Hello. I said hello to you earlier, right? You didn't respond, did you?" "You didn't." instantly. "Hm... Pretty sure I did." eye clenching, then adding "Well in any case: good morning." "Good morning" in a low voice, but I've already walked away. And did I really want to wish him a good morning?

If you are a communist, if you are a Marxist, you must understand that "criticism" doesn't just mean "think about, talk about"; the point is to change it. Actively foster a social being, a life, that facilitates your development towards Marxism, towards scientific cognition, towards liberation.

You live under capitalism. Damn near every aspect of your life reinforces capitalist modes of being -- individualism, empiricist or verbalist thought, egotism, domination and subservience. If you are a communist, if you aspire to be a Marxist, you must ruthlessly criticize all aspects of your life.

In Saudia, a group of identically-dressing men attacked a young man who wore pink. The threat was never the color itself—but the the choice of refusal to look like the citizen in the textbooks. Women police women, men police men and women; such is the nature of a self-surveilled prison.

When a jailor-state monopolizes schooling, the oppressed's academic vocabulary is built in its language; in its shape. Relying on loan-words for complex ideas isn't a personal flaw—but the footprint of state exclusion. We live in our ancestral tongue, but Kurdish intellectuals don't speak Kurdish.

Own your values, understand your values, interrogate your values, insist on your values. Do not ascribe your values to anything outside of you. The word "deserve" has no coherent meaning.

What philosophy you choose depends on who you are. A rotten world makes for a wretched people who adopt a wretched philosophy. To blame the philosophy itself is to blame the puddle for the pothole it lies in -- although that's not to say a wretched philosophy doesn't further weather the mind.

You don't have "anxiety", you were raised in an environment where it was actually the case that you are always in danger, and especially if you relax, let your guard down, forget something. That's not anxiety, that's adaptation to a harmful reality that may or may not still exist.
