I'm so grateful that 7S came out with such a direct response of "NO WE ARE NOT USING AI" I'm choosing to trust the relationship we built over the many years I worked for 7S. Fingers crossed...thank you 7S team!

If seven seas wants a translation done in 2 months instead of 5-6, I CAN DO THAT FOR YOU. ALL OF US CAN. I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR YOUR FOR YEARS. Please don't shove the titles I embedded a part of my soul in every script through an AI grinder and ruin them. Please. These books deserve so much more

Had this Korean soup packet lying around that I didn't really like. It was way too sweet. So I added a cup of water, some chicken stock, soy sauce, msg, white pepper, seaweed and noodles And mmm! Its so good 🤤

I caved Air Canada is cancelling a bunch of their flights (ongoing strike). I got nervous and booked with West Jet too for almost double the price in case our flight gets cancelled. I'm going to need to pick up more work to save my wallet... if anyone is looking for a translator, I'm totally open 😢

VIZ Media quietly added an AI-translated manga to their app and hoped no one would notice. We did. Manga deserves better than cheap, soulless automation. This is a betrayal of translators, fans, and the art form. We don't want your AI translations!

Getting into the Japanese media translation industry, especially for manga, is a lot harder nowadays, but here are some resources for translators, letterers, and editors

Dunno about translators, but when I TL I take on a lot of the emotions of the characters (which is why it's a tad bit hard for me to translate a character I can't empathize with [very rare. only happened once]) Which also means I cry a lot easier when I'm translating 😂

Project management is super fun and cool! But sometimes I just want to ram my head against a wall when trying to come up with plans to target unique projects But the overwhelming feeling when facing unique challenges can be super fun and interesting too... At least it keeps things rather interesting

I can't be the only one who's constantly googling "[word] Synonym" when my brain just isn't *in the zone* while I'm translating

We're still trying to figure out why Nyx is barbering. We did an ultrasound yesterday and the vet called me with the results: a big fat question mark. So she asks if he's not eating, losing weight, lethargic... I turn around and see him stealing one of the bright red strawberries I just washed. 💢

Took a good hour but I managed to edit out "they" from my script and STILL make it smooth [the characters are describing their (male) colleague to their friends who are assuming they're talking about a girl-classic "JP don't use pronouns leading to misunderstandings BL trope"] I feel like a god

My husband and I did an exchange. I have to read a manhua of his choice and he has to read something I choose. Of course I went with a tame BL with action (90 ch). And he gives me a 207+ ch drama romance 😰 that's a lotta chapters...
