Of course, being a poet as well as a visual artist, there's all that poetry I've been writing recently, written with no help from generative AI. Some of my most creative recent examples include: "The Dogman", "The Nameless Terror", "A Caring Visitation", and "Making a Stand".
The Dogman

By Richard H. Fay

An entity of elemental rage,
A monstrosity neither man nor wolf,
A man with a wolf’s aggressive aspect,
A wolf having a human’s upright stance,
The dogman prowls the darkened countryside.

An animalistic shade of nature,
A spirit of the savage wilderness,
A beast possessing paranormal traits,
A legendary fiend made flesh-and-blood,
The dogman spreads terror across the land.

An incarnation of infinite fears,
A devil sent to harry humankind,
A manifestation of man’s nightmares,
A demonic menace on moonlit nights,
The dogman hunts the woods for mortal prey.
The Nameless Terror

By Richard H. Fay

In an unquiet house
Wherein restless wraiths dwelt,
During an uneasy night
When eldritch spectres stirred,
I found my heart tested
By a nameless terror.

As I crossed the threshold
Of my unlit chamber,
My unwelcome presence
Roused an unknown something —
I found myself assailed
By a faceless horror.

A frame of ragged form
Like a tattered black cloak
Swooped downward upon me.
Like a mailed knight of yore
I found the nerve to fight
‘Gainst a peerless rival.

A swirling ebon shape
Surged in my direction,
Then parted around me
Like a substanceless mist —
I found I had stood firm
‘Gainst a bodiless shade.
A Caring Visitation

While abed with the flu,
With blankets flung off,
During what I took to be
Merely a fevered dream,
A familiar silhouette
Of a departed loved one
Appeared at my bedside.

I awoke hot and sweaty
To discover the discarded covers
Had been pulled back over me.
Making a Stand

By Richard H. Fay

As a strange titan stomped into
This tranquil bucolic vill,
A determined damsel strode out.

As a two-headed abomination
Burned both cot and barn,
A woman in mail faced the threat.

As menfolk fled in abject fear
From the torch-bearing terror,
That female warrior stood firm.

As the menacing monstrosity
Laughed at her bold defiance,
The maid raised her glowing sword.

As magic steel bit into flesh,
Twin visages grimaced gruesomely,
Then the lethal lass felled her foe!

Contrary to what some AI bros/bots argue, most genuine artists have no need to get their creativity from AI. Most are capable of tapping into their inner creativity. That being said, let's show these AI chuds just how creative we can get! Let's do a human creativity art share!
Sliding Through Another Dimension
In this weird and rather surreal scifi artwork by Richard H. Fay, two glowing human figures (one male, one female) slide through a strange swirling dimension populated by both cone-shaped and jellyfish-like alien creatures.

If the account that said real artists are getting their creativity from AI is run by a genuine person and not a bot, then that person truly doesn't know the artists I know. I know some incredibly creative artists, and I seriously doubt they're getting their creativity from AI.
AI Slop Glazers & Grifters
@AISlopCallout
“Real artists are *literally* getting their creativity from AI” so we’re just making stuff up now? Show me the study, survey, or literally any data from which you are basing this.

Idiot probably knows one artist who is an AI glazer & they’re basing this entire statement on them.

Showing My Age

By Richard H. Fay

The stark reflection
Staring back at me
From the silvered glass
Displays all the scars
Left by life's hardships,
Betrays all the flaws
Of being human,
Reveals the damage
Done by weariness,
Shows a face once fresh
Grown tired and old.

I Am Done

By Richard H. Fay

I am done with others breaking my heart.
I am done with strangers putting me down.
I am done with people doing me wrong.
I am done with humans waging their wars.
I am done with mankind wrecking the Earth.
I am done with society.
I am done with life.
I am done.
Done!

You see, the administration could not hold the football players responsible and then risk having no football team when it came time to play the big games. Because of "school pride", football players were simply above being punished for misbehaving.

I recall there was a food fight in the cafeteria in HS (I missed it, thankfully) involving a group of football players and some other kids. Afterwards, the school administration sent the football players out to intimidate the other kids into confessing that they were responsible.

I've always assumed one reason that sports programs get funded when arts programs might not is because sports are the circuses part of "bread and circuses". Sports are better at amusing the masses. Plus, "school pride" and all that. In my HS, football players could do no wrong.

AI bots have been coded and trained to disrespect artists, as part of the tech bro campaign to destroy the spirit of artists and gaslight the public into thinking artists are figures to be hated and scorned. Make no mistake, it's a war of words being waged against artists.

There's this idea in modern society that art is fine for a hobby but not for a business, job, or career. This idea was in place before the nonconsensual exploitation of art by generative AI systems became an issue. It was like society was already primed to look down upon artists.
020
Richard H Fay — Artist, Photographer, and Poet @azurelionprod.bsky.social · 16h
Again, just before generative AI burst onto the scene, I had Elon bros call me a "parasite" simply for being an artist. I've had folks in my own field argue with me when I call my art a "business", insisting that my art is a "hobby", even though I make a profit doing it.
020
Richard H Fay — Artist, Photographer, and Poet @azurelionprod.bsky.social · 16h
I recall a time, just before generative AI burst onto the scene and became such an issue, I happened to be carrying on an online discussion with a retired blue collar worker who said, when I told him I'm an artist "I thought I was talking to someone with a real job". Seriously!

Richard H Fay — Artist, Photographer, and Poet @azurelionprod.bsky.social · 16h
I think many non-artists have become convinced of the idea that "art" invariably means "elitist Fine Art" and "artist" invariably means "elitist fine artist". To them, art is artists taping bananas to walls. They fail to see the art all around them.

Do these poems sound like they were written by a fascist?
Politicians
By Richard H. Fay
Vultures of the human ecosystem,
Scavengers of modern culture,
Pick the bones of the
Poor,
Young,
Old,
Sick.
Traitors to society’s promise,
Malefactors acting out false realities,
Place their blame on the
Weak,
Meek,
Brown,
Black.
Kleptocratic powers that be,
Plutocratic heads of state,
Play their games in the name of
Lies,
Greed,
God,
Sin.
Grandstanding mouthpieces
Spewing their empty pledges
Spread deplorable messages of
Hate,
Strife,
War,
Death.
Time for a change!

Death of Reason

By Richard H. Fay

Reason itself has died an awful death,
Slain by disciples of ruinous chaos,
Sacrificed to power and avarice,
Throat slit open upon the altar
Of division and strife sown
By malefactors evading
Lawful accountability
For misdeeds done
For little reason
Other than
"I can!"
Why?

By Richard H. Fay

Countries devastated
Neighborhoods pulverized
Households decimated

Families shattered
Innocents murdered
Children massacred

Nations ruined
Landscapes ravaged
Dwellings destroyed

Spirits wrecked
Lives taken
Kinfolk killed

Homes razed
Blood spilled
Death sown

Strife
Woe
War

Why?
Kleptocracy

By Richard H. Fay

Flaunt the laws
To fill the personal coffers.
Take all you can
And demolish all the rest.
Enrich oneself
At the expense of others.
Weaken democracy
In the name of selfish gain.
Rape the nation
While letting citizens suffer.
Damn the people
To crushing impoverishment.

When you've got some sites stating that Twitter/X is now 60%-80% bot accounts, the chances that bots are replying in one's Twitter/X threads are very high. It's almost guaranteed some replies will be from bots. One must assume the worst of the offensive replies are now from bots.

Watching bot argue with bot over at the other place is a surreal experience. The one thing they typically have in common is a tendency to use trollish language and of lacking any sort of truly logical argument. Their logic is twisted at best.
000
Richard H Fay — Artist, Photographer, and Poet @azurelionprod.bsky.social · 18h
And, yes, I believe the account that was telling AI users to off themselves was also another gaslighting bot, sent out in the wild world of social media to sow trouble, to keep the AI debate growing, and to reap the rewards of making those against AI look like wannabe terrorists.
000
Richard H Fay — Artist, Photographer, and Poet @azurelionprod.bsky.social · 18h
Where did I say I condone such behavior? Nowhere! Two wrongs don't make a right. I will block folks from either side who tell others to off themselves. As a matter of principle, I blocked both offensive bots on that thread and shut down comments.

I suppose you could prompt AI to generate something "in the style of [insert artists name]", but then isn't the user merely aping the style of the artist named in the prompt? It it really the user's own voice and style? Somehow, I doubt it!
000
Richard H Fay — Artist, Photographer, and Poet @azurelionprod.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Can you even have an artistic voice of your own if you use AI? Doesn't AI makes random choices regarding various aspects, including style? Isn't style part of the artistic voice? Style arises from choices made by the artist, but with AI, the user isn't making all of the choices.
Is this a 3D model?
@IsThisA3DModel
Using AI is antithetical to your artistic voice so it actually matters quite a lot if you use it.

Kris Kashtanova

Tired

By Richard H. Fay

I'm tired of life.
I'm tired of facing this life's
Disappointments,
Disillusionments,
Dissatisfactions.
I'm tired of dealing with life's
Difficulties,
Distractions,
Dysfunctions.
I'm tired of living through life’s
Disagreements,
Discordancies,
Discomforts.
I want to die
To find some peace
From this disordered life,
But in spite of all the
Discouragements,
Disconcernments,
Disgruntlements,
I keep on living
Nevertheless.
