Saga of what not to do with one's dishwasher. My dishwasher stopped working (or at least I thought so). I'm planning a kitchen remodel, so I hand-washed dishes. The drying portion of the dishwasher still worked, and yesterday, as I was moving to the drying portion, wash cycle began. 1/2

I have a 2010 or 11 Asus 17 inch/ win7 gaming laptop. It has 8 gb of memory, 2 gb primary hard drive, 2 (2 g ) secondary drives, and an Invidia video card with 2 g of memory. Is this worth updating to Linux OS or just send it to a computer junk service?

I just had a weird but good thing happen. This morning when I got up, there was a bird at the window in my upstairs landing. I just went upstairs, and the bird was trapped between the window and the screen. No idea how he got between them. I ripped the screen, and he was able to fly away.

My area is under a tornado watch (nearby areas under warning) so I can't go upstairs to bed. And the only downstairs area that doesn't have windows is the laundry room that has the cat litter box, in which I can just stand up. It's probably ok, but I'm going to stay up until the warning is over.

I am devastated. Yesterday I had my just-15-year old female cat, Clio, put to sleep. She was the loveliest, tiniest tuxedo who never did a mean thing. Sadly, it was the right thing to do, as she had kidney problems that only briefly responded to treatment. I held her, purring, until the end.

In the saga of cats . . . My male cat, Thor, thin, ~25" from tip of nose to end of back plus ~16" of tail, jumped into a bath tub full of cool water this morning. He immediately jumped out and raced around the house shedding water everywhere. I finally caught him and got him dried off. Love him.

So, this week has been hard. Very hard. On Monday we found out that my kind, gentle, perfect little man Fergus had diffuse, fast-moving cancer throughout his body. So we had to make the awful decision to say goodbye to him yesterday.
