ive been on a hunt to figure out what games support 480hz (or above). here's what i've found so far any game that has a fully unlocked frame rate works any other games that come to mind?

This open-air quest 3 facial interface is truly the convertible, drop-top, “feel and smell the air around you” accessory of VR

end-to-end latency test for moonlight streaming from my PC (shown on the monitor) to me Steam Deck Total latency at 60fps is around a frame (16ms). Even less so for 90fps. Feels fantastic for playing with a controller

The camera’s here and I’m lovin it! Fantastic camera baseline, optical zoom, surprisingly decent quality in low light, a 3D display for preview, auto-alignment during capture, and a satisfying flip up/down mechanism for turning it on—15 year old tech! Will work on converting to spatial photos!

heres a better comparison mcmc (screenshots 1 and 3) vs adc (2 and 4) surroundings are way more defined with ADC at the expense of detail on the subject scan itself
110
Azad Balabanian @azadux.com · 16/02/2025
Eh, ADC produced just as bad results with less detail on the actual building (sceenshot 1) however, i think it's better at reconstructing the surrounding (screenshot 2)

btw, the skybox didnt help much here either, even when I had a decent amount of ground photos looking up at the sky. I'll have to try again when i scan a scene with more of the surround and sky captured intentionally

Found a neat use case of my Vision Pro: previewing 3D prints before printing them. Visualizing the scale of prints is always hard—not anymore! The workflow is super easy. Export model as USDZ from blender and open it in Vision Pro.

then, you do a "mesh reconstruction" generates depth maps per image and then fuses them all together into a high poly mesh. The result is a 100mil polygon model (even with 2x image downscale)

btw - this is what a photogrammetry project looks like you have a whole bunch of photos (in this case 1180 images from a DSLR and a drone) where you compare high contrast features against one another to find shared tie points, which make up the point cloud that you see next, for meshing

Moonlight streaming pc -> steam deck latency test It’s… pretty dang fast! A part of it is due to the HEVC decoding speed on Steam deck being super fast (<1ms)

Ok I’m back to streaming games to my Vision Pro Forgot of fing awesome it is to play on a massive screen compared to my Steam deck. I’m even using my 5.1 surround sound speakers for that non-simulated spatial audio

My Meta Ray Bans have become something I use daily, even without prescription lenses - sunglasses + podcast speakers while I bike to work - mic + speakers for phone and some zoom calls - dashcam for the streets They feel like v0.1 of AR glasses, focusing use cases that already exist (audio/video)

The new Indiana jones game is best looking game I’ve ever played The full path tracing mode is truly the first time I’ve been awestruck with ray tracing. Every room GI, every material’s speculars, every object on a shelf, every leaf and branch just looks… right!

I love moonlight streaming ❤️ I can be hundreds of miles away from my PC, run a Cyberpunk at 120fps HDR on it, and stream it to my phone with only 20ms of latency And if I’m at home on the same network, latency is down to just 4ms!! I can play from my phone, laptop, Apple TV, or a vr headset!

Report from my family in Aleppo, Syria (Armenians) Before you support the rebels just cause they’re “anti-authoritarian”, consider this Look at what happened when Saddam fell: the power vacuum pulled in even worse extremists (aka ISIS) who killed gays, raped women, destabilized the whole region…🧵

I’m really happy that valve is going with controllers that look like Quest 3’s The form factor is great, small, easy to pick up or drop, and portable. Combined with the fact that it’ll mirror Steam Deck’s buttons means it’s going to a killer 2D gaming console too I’m hyped

There’s something so cool about a design/dev studio like @liquidcity.bsky.social who also makes short films about technology I had totally missed their film “Agents” from last year—it’s about a future of living with AR AI agents, about privacy, and decentralized AI Go watch it vimeo.com/864503702

Some fantastic updates from RealityCapture 1. COLMAP export for NeRFs/3DGS!! 2. Relative file paths!!! 3. Texture defragmentation - aka minimize the amount of UV islands it creates during unwrap 4. Automatically removing marginal triangles during reconstruction (aka don’t make the mesh watertight)

I often post scans/splats on Twitter but somehow this one blew up I’ve been thinking about why and I think the idea that capturing something you cherish and that you’ll lose soon, to revisit in vr is a very salient/relatable one

Gaussian splatting is so good at capturing context. For me, it has changed my approach to volumetric photography. For me with photogrammetry, it was very much either object-based. But with splats, I can think more frustum-based, composing a scene with a foreground, background, and subject
