"20 yards of linen = 1 coat" was a subliminal dogwhistle for the proletariat to get involved in drag culture

"Still has good policies but isn't immune from criticism" is a much different sentiment from what's portrayed in the post. I'd say it's outright nuanced and civilized

You know, virtue signalling is also designed to be inconvenient and to gain attention.

You think so? The risk of nuclear conflict is higher now than it was during the Cuban missile crisis? Heck how about this: Japan GOT nuked, twice, the emperor surrendered and the Allies were occupying. Their birthrate back then was way higher than it is now. www.macrotrends.net/global-metri...

Anxiety towards the future can't explain it, because the future has always been uncertain. How come birth rates were higher during the cold war, when two superpowers were credibly threatening nuclear annihilation?

I don't think this is supported by history. After all, this isn't the only volatile time in history. Birth rates were higher during the cold war, when two superpowers were credibly threatening nuclear annihilation.

The countries that have the most robust social programs also tend to be the ones with the lowest birth rates. The countries with higher birth rates tend to be poorer.

I read that this was because an NYC anti-hate crime initiative might give grant money to a jewish organization that's zionist? Could protest that org specifically, lobby for the grant to go to a different jewish org Though I will concede, that's way more boring than hurling accusations of genocide

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
We're talking about a super popular democratic socialist mayor who agrees Gaza is a genocide, doesn't believe Israel should be a Jewish state, and would arrest Netanyahu if he had the legal authority to do so btw. Just to ground ourselves about who you're accusing of crimes against humanity.

It's not stupid. It's just one side in the age-old leftist debate, "incrementalism or revolution." Should we strategically compromise on some beliefs in order to obtain power and secure other beliefs? If so, to what extent? Natalie claims that the no-compromise position is just spinning your wheels

I believe you. You're not affiliated with any relevant left-wing group, whom you enjoy endlessly critiquing because they are cultists and genociders, unlike the boutique activists you identify with.

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
"you have no idea how many people share full solidarity with resistance movements" Apparently a whopping ~200 people in the NYC area agree with your opinion that Mamdani is actively committing crimes against humanity regarding Gaza.
000
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
I would say yes, and that stance is corroborated by international humanitarian groups like Amnesty International, Doctors Without Borders, and more. Do you genuinely believe Mamadani belongs in The Hague in a cell next to Netanyahu?
140
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Protesting in favor of Palestine against Mamdani is the textbook definition of doing nothing
100
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Suppose he is objectively wrong. "You want to commit genocide" is not an accusation you can just flippantly throw around. That's a serious crime against humanity. Either you genuinely believe Mamdani belongs in The Hague in a cell next to Netanyahu, or you can't have a civil disagreement.

Isn't it possible to express "I disagree with your decision to give money to JCRC" without immediately accusing him of literally wanting to ethnically cleanse the undesirables
020
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Mamdani is a Democrat, or at least has been allying with Democrats like Governor Hochul and such. If the Democrats are such a loser party, what does it say about you that you're an irrelevant faction?

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Immediately jumping to accusations of genocide whenever you disagree with something is not a position of critical thinking

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Can you name any politician who you feel does not support genocide?

They take the home from you. They give you cash; you use that cash to purchase the home, and then you own 100% of the home. You're on the hook for the mortgage that they lent you.
100
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
The bank never owns your home under normal corcumstances. You own 100% of the home, you are the only name listed on the deed. You owe the bank a mortgage, and if you fail to pay the mortgage, they may take the home as collateral. I think that's where the confusion is

Citing three dozen sources to qualify the claim that the army fights by defeating its enemies
010
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 07/10/2026
Open source means code that is readily viewable. The community means different things to different people. Your view is very idealistic, but sometimes it's some guy thanklessly maintaining a project that's inferior to the proprietary option. If this makes a great tool, I consider it a win

Water is used as an industrial solvent. You just banned the use of water in foods.
100
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
Many corporations also use industrial solvents as an ingredient in their food products, should we ban that too? That wouldn't be a very good idea
110
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 04/10/2026
It's "only 3 ingredients" because a huge amount of stuff has been abstracted away. Soybeans are an extremely complicated cocktail of chemicals comprising everything that the plant needed to live, but we lump all of it into one ingredient called "soybean"

I agree that no small group of persons can be permitted to own the nation. How would you feel about a system where the nation is owned collectively, by society as a whole? That's the largest group of persons possible.

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
I know he has also made a lot of stock purchases for himself personally; but the stuff that the US Government has purchased, that's owned by the US government, isn't it?

Woah chill out, I don't agree with everything here but it's not that serious
001
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 29/09/2026
Here is the point. Both sides are not even remotely the same. Your moral grandstanding will harm actual trans people.

Whether you want to call it doomerism, disenfranchisement, blackpill, centrism... I think a break from scrolling would be healthy for you
200
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
It's good to criticize politicians. It's also good to understand our tools. How can we actually fight on this front? You may say that lesser-evil voting is insufficient, and I'd agree. But insufficient doesn't mean useless. "Both sides are equally bad" is just enlightened centrism.
200
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
We both want to win more trans rights. We both want to crush transphobia. Victory is the only option when you are facing genocide. In the context of the 2026 Ohio governor race, voting for the Libertarian party is worthless
100
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
If your goal is to teach the liberals a lesson, you need Republicans to win that election. If Amy Acton wins, then your strategy completely backfires, so you need Vivek Ramaswamy to become the next governor of Ohio. www.lgbtqnation.com/2023/08/who-...
Vivek Ramaswamy considers the LGBTQ+ movement to be a "cult," and says trans identity is a mental illness.

If that's the case, then your refusing to participate is a terrible idea. If you don't participate, but Democrats win anyway, that could show that your support is unimportant. They won a statewide election in Texas without you! Your non-participation strategy relies on the Republicans winning.
210
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
No, you don't. I'm sorry you feel anxious but this is just doomerism. One guy is a Christian Nationalist who wants to arrest the parents of trans kids for child abuse; the other guy believes trans kids are created in God's image but also said problematic stuff about sports. Not even remotely close.
210
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 28/09/2026
His platform is not anti-trans. Also, consider the outcome if he wins. If you peace out, and then he wins anyway, that could also teach the Democrats that your support is unnecessary. Therefore, you need Republicans to win. That makes you transphobic, and a wrecker.

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Oh I got it. Enlightened centrists think that both sides are equally bad, but for the wrong reasons. You think both sides are equally bad, but for the correct reasons. That means your refusal to vote is more noble and strategic than their refusal to vote. Thanks for clearing that up.

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
If the president/congress in 1964 was segregationist, all of that fighting would have been meaningless. Would you say that Lyndon B Johnson was perfect on matters of racial equality? Probably not. But he was good enough, which enabled racial justice fighters to make great progress.

A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Okay, well, while you hem and haw about the moral implications of voting for a candidate who has a great voting record but said problematic things recently, I'll focus on the things I can actually do to promote trans rights.
110
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
If you're not voting for Talarico either, that's in support of Paxton. There'd functionally be no difference between you and an enlightened centrist. You and the centrist would agree: we're sitting out because both sides are terrible.

Refusing to support Paxton's opponent is extremely transphobic.

- Voting for a candidate makes it more likely for them to win. - Not voting for a candidate makes it less likely for them to win. - When a candidate becomes less likely to win, it means their opponent became more likely to win. Which statement here is controversial?
210
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
Yes, because the moment is all we have. There is no "What I wish was," there is only "What is." If we elect a president in 2028 who is literally perfect on trans rights, one of these two candidates will be there in the Senate the entire time. It's obvious who we want in the Senate in that case.
110
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
You're still implying both sides are the same. Paxton wants to arrest the parents of trans kids for child abuse, and Talarico said that trans children are made in God's image. To anybody who is actually concerned about trans rights, the answer here is extremely obvious, even if one is imperfect.
210
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
I think it's an example of moral grandstanding. We get it, you hate transphobia. You're a very good person. While you're busy waiting for the right candidate to come along, Paxton is figuring out how he can charge the parents of trans kids with child abuse before his senate term ends in 2033.
200
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
I don't excuse it. I wish he hadn't said that, and I disagree with him. However, as far as this Texas senate election is concerned, he's far and away the best option for trans rights. It's not even remotely close. Let alone abortion, immigration, etc.
200
A3 @aythree.bsky.social · 27/09/2026
This person clearly believes there is a negligible amount of daylight between an outright Christian Nationalist, and a moderate Democrat who by the way has a pro-trans voting record from his time in the Texas legislature.
