That said - given the quality of open weight models today, any "AI startup" burning that much capital on tokens is doomed. Their US startup competitors are using chinese open weight models to preserve cash.

Sorry, all I saw was a GIF. I agree with rail investment and in fact nationalise it as its a monopoly - here in CH rail budgets are approved by referendum every 10 years, so long term thinking. Roads do need investment tho and so its not bad to help fast track infra as a growth driver.

...so to describe it as "lower" demeans the thoughtful and moral approach to the problem. Dems have left the door open for GOP to de-escalate. And remember, leaders like AOC have stated that they have legislation ready to go to make partisan redistricting illegal - GOP doesn't want democracy.

I disagree with this pithy but inaccurate perspective on what is happening with redistricting... The Dem redistricting referendums have (a) been votes, not an imposition like in TX etc, and (b) consistently stated that their redistricting is contingent on GOP redistricting.
