maybe I'm dumb but I also don't understand what they mean with the single use passes. why can't they be encrypted without a server? shouldn't a rotating mac take care of everything possible? maybe they're trying to say you can't exchange info without their app, but that doesn't make any sense either

i have been fucking around with an old powerpc imac trying to make it run nixos but the noise the fan makes is just so annoying man also QUAKE but REDDER

quake start.bsp, letterboxed on a 20" isight-less imac g5 but the colors are fucked up like it's all red and stuff, the imac is on my desk which is cluttered with wires and my room's lights are all blue

ever since i was a lil bitty boy i wanted to take the screen outta one of those famiclone handhelds and hook it up to a pi or something. i got a logic analyzer and spent today trying to figure it out. i couldn't find my soldering iron so i took 8 captures holding a wire with my hand. it's beautiful

this is the title screen of one of those bootleg handheld famiclone consoles you find everywhere. got some mario graphics and a chinese or english language select screen. i got mine off aliexpress for maybe $10 and i think it's called an rs-50? it's got av out and a rechargeable nokia battery and a controller for player 2. anyway i didnt take the time to get the other 8 bits so there's no blue. you will notice that it looks like shit and that is because this thing is stretching the nes 256x240 to 320x240 and it looks disgusting. the screen is some kind of 8080 something or other, so not some wacky unknown thing like i was dreading and it should be really simple to get it working once i get a breakout for the fpc. my dream was to make myself a pcb and put an rp2350 or esp32 in there and make the cheapest console ever (i wanted to make a dirtywave m8 for cheap) and now that i know it's possible i'm gonna have to learn kicad. and like, general electronics stuff because i really do not know how to do any of this. also shoutouts to this other project that motivated me to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FW7MTuJyUNA

my samsung tv has this awesome feature where if you unplug one of the inputs' hdmi cables, it immediately clears all the picture settings for the input because fuck you why would you ever want to unplug something or swap a cable? have fun turning off motion smoothing and sharpening for the 10th time
