7/ extremely tedious platforming again. There is a bench fairly close, but it itself is trapped, with the means to disarm it in a completely hidden room. This really sours a boss that on its own could just be an okay boss. Silksong otherwise has been a 10/10 game. But please. Change Hunters March

6/ The boss itself also deals two HP per hit. I dont think the boss itself is bad, but the fact it comes after all the annoying platforming makes it a pain. Hunters March is accessible fairly early, and the boss is tanky. Even if the boss isnt inherently tough, dying means going through all the

5/ Does not work at all. Forcing the player to slow down like this works against what makes Hornet’s movement fun. Assuming you get past the awful flower platforming, you fight a boss thats basically a huge fly. Its movements are fairly predictable, and it summons other enemies as minions

4/ This area is also filled with a lot of traps. This sucks less than the flowers, and are actually a neat concept. However Hornet’s movement is designed to be fast and agile. Taking a character designed around fluid movement, and putting them in an area full of unreliable platforms and hidden traps

3/ This ultimately makes the red flowers one of the most frustrating things. It makes it very hard to line up, and bounce off of them reliably. The area is filled with platforming which expects the player to chain several of these in a row. This is a problem.

2/ The area itself is populated by the ant creatures. They’re awesome. However, the red flowers are the most annoying things ever. You’re meant to pogo them like those bouncy mushrooms in Fungal Wastes. Great on concept However, Silksong removes the downward slash in favor of the diagonal dive.

4/ I would say that at least for me, Silksong’s been on average harder than HK, though perhaps I’m just too good at HK. (Though seriously, why is the Bell Beast, the second boss encounter, hitting for DOUBLE health??? LOL) I think the movement really shines in the Lace fight. Really fun encounter

3/ The Dash is also just strictly better. It doesnt end as long as you hold the button, and can still be used just like the Cloak did in HK. This helps keep up the pacing really well. Likewise, early game enemies are a bit more complex than HK’s early game, which is a good thing.

2/ The movement is by far the best part. Right out of the gate, the downward slash is replaced with a downward diagonal dash. It was a bit tough to get used to after conditioning from HK, but within an hour it was very fluid.

I’m roughly 3 hours into Silksong. initial thoughts (Spoilers Ahead, Obviously) 1/ OH MY GOD THIS GAME IS LIKE, ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. The game is absolutely just as stunning as HK with visuals and music, and a lot more polished. The real early game is also way better than HK’s. But the MOVEMENT OMG

Yeah. In general, I feel like people are focused on either the idea that all monsters bleed, or that its Susie specific. Even if not directly a melting equivalent like I think, the idea that something *makes* them bleed helps tie in a lot of inconsistencies, such as Papyrus not bleeding in UT

“Its Raining Somewhere Else” plays in the Hotland Dinner scene, where Sans talks about his relationship with Toriel through the Ruins door. In Deltarune they only meet up because of the rain. “Its Raining Somewhere Else” also plays in Sans’ secret lab, which has more evidence to Sans being from DR

Basically, in Chapter 4, after you beat the Titan and return to the Light World, the song playing is nearly identical to “Its Raining Somewhere Else” from Undertale, only omitting Sans’ theme. The name of the track is “The place where it rained”.

As for Gerson and Kris. Gerson is *technically* a Darkner, which muddies things, but if we consider opening a fountain as a benchmark for Determination effects, Gerson wouldn’t bleed anyways. Its hard with him. With Kris, they’re a human. Human souls just have Determination by default. So they bleed

My theory also involves Sans bleeding in Undertale. With Chapter 4, the idea that Sans is the same person across both games is pretty likely now. Assuming Sans’ role in Geno, I would argue he has a good deal of Determination as well. This could also explain why Papyrus doesn’t bleed in Geno

I get what you mean. That said, Ive always thought of Determination at its root the process of changing fate (through reloading saves). As Susie’s whole thing is about changing the prophecy, there is a good connection there. Besides, Toby said the rules might be different from UT

Yeah! This really hinges on monsters bleeding not being normal in Deltarune. Ive seen people presenting the idea that Susie is half human, but theres little to support that. Bleeding being the equivalent of melting makes a lot sense cuz of Susie opening a dark fountain.
