Nicely done. I tried this same thing on my MG Heavyarms mini gun barrels. It was ok but don’t think it turned out as well as yours. Still need to practice.

I’ve always seen (and honestly LIVED) the memes about loosing a piece and not being able to find it. Never have I seen the reverse. It’s like the leftover ikea pieces that make you question your sanity and ask yourself “where did I go wrong?”

You are missing out and depraving yourself of some super fun builds! MGSD are great kits. They get a lot of flack for the chibi like proportions, but the engineering behind them are top notch.

WIP: body and weapons done. Still have to build the manta-ray backpack and water slides. This kit is insane! kind of bummed I didn’t paint up the details except on the trident, but I’d probably get burned out pretty quick with how much detail there is in the frame and the other parts. #Gunpla

WIP update: In Era Thunderbolt 2.0 Manta Ray. Phase 1 - inner frame is done! Man I love the details of this thing! Really trying hard to not want to paint and detail it all. Next up, panel lining all white/grey armor pieces.

Yeah I built the In Era Trailblazer and loved it. I remember it had some tight fits and snug joints, but this Thunderbolt 2.0 is like on another level. Also second guessing my approach with this kit. Started as a simple snap build, but the itch to paint details and panel line is strong.

I started on mine and I’m about as far as you were in this photo. I found the joints to be EXTREMELY tight. Like the leg joints move, but I have to use a lot of force to get any of them to bend. But at the same time, I’m not scared of them breaking. They seem quite strong. Did you have any issues?
