I'm going to commit a war crime if one more 30+yo person tells me to my face they 'don't like being told what to do' when what's being asked of them is basic human decency, proactive care of their community, and/or maybe not being racist.

Let's talk about the difference between how the government reacted to Hurricane Katrina—leaving Blackfolk stranded, hypercriminalized, and abandoned—and Hurricanes Sandy, Harvey, and Ian. When disaster hits Black communities? Survival is criminalized. White communities? Survival is prioritized.

The horrors persist, but so does my wife and holy shit they are so good at hyping me up. My wife is flexing and telling me they want to hear more about my mushroom world building. What horrors?

bonus: I originally read it as the wrong kind of 'feed' and had a very visceral image of my perfect life.

My Samus redesign with the Giger slider cranked waaay up.

Closeup of Samus in her Zero Suit which is fused to her skin.

Samus with her Varia Suit, Zero Suit, and transparent Varia Suit to showcase details of how it fits her. Also yes she has a missing hand because I think that both fits into a cannon better and is just cooler.

If a job is worth doing, it's worth having dignity and being paid a livable wage to do it. And that goes for EVERY job. I've done data entry. I've scrubbed toilets and showers, I've made sandwiches for inmates. Every job should be treated with dignity and respect.

why on Dolly's green earth is writing a first post on patreon just briefly introducing myself more difficult than learning a whole new program to start publishing material???

This medicine stuff? Pretty sick. Definitely would recommend it. I just did a small repair job that required me to kneel and lift and all kinds of weird body movements. Zero pain. None pain. I have been un-nerfed. All because I let a strange man stab my spine. Amazing.

Ari @awrabbit.bsky.social · 05/09/2026

Holy shit y'all. People just walk around? And climb stairs? And bend and twist without pain or fear of thor sending a bolt of lightening straight through their spine??? Wild.

I added icecream, cold coffee, an chocolate with a bit too much ice but it was ok for a first attempt! I'm doing by best captain!

tried making a protein/fiber powder out of dried red lentils since I'm going back to vegetarian and I'm not sure if there's no taste in the shake I made because it doesn't have a strong bean flavor or because I haven't slept in over 25hrs. Further tests must be run 😂

At least the medicine should be worth the stabbing.

000

I inherited my family's curse of needing extra numbing and waking up from anesthesia, etc. No doctor I have ever told this to believes me for some goddamn reason so I just got to feel someone stabbing into my nerves repeatedly and just kinda had to go with it.

100

"The worst pain you'll feel is the injection of the anesthetic. Otherwise it's just pressure." Hahahahahahahaha ow.

100

I don't usually get nervous about medical procedures, but for some reason this outpatient very common procedure has me on the edge of a freak out.

Getting medically stabbed in my spine today! I'm so excited! I'm definitely not having heart palpitations! I'm certainly not thinking about paralysis! Hurray!!!

The campaign frame is effectively done! Why effectively? Because I have a whole setting book for Ratear Row to make now and I'm not going to finish the art until that's done. That being said, I can't wait to share it with yall! I'll be putting it on Itch and Heart of Daggers!

Bless my players reading over this thing and taking my dyslexic hands in theirs to tell me, gently, that I have to stop making everything 'it's' instead of 'its'.

I really like it. It can come off like a 'rules light' system to people but it really isn't, it's just built around taking cognitive loads off your brain in the middle of play.

I'll look into it, I appreciate the tip! Mostly I wanted the ability to publish the campaign frame for free and the companion supplement book for 'pay what you want' which I know is easy on itch.

100

Daggerheart material! Specifically a campaign frame to start. I've been a little too quiet about it, but I'll be real annoying about it soon 😂

Now to figure out how to publish on itch.io

Being in a healthy relationship is wild because why do I hear this big butch snore while I'm working and think 'god damnit I need them to put a baby in me'

020

But that mix of one of us being able to say 'Im having that awful feeling again' and the other being able to emotionally support and then also help set us back on track if there is genuinely something to do about it is so important.

030

The number of times one of us has held the other while they cried and reassured us is somewhat frequent in this fucking economy. Having a few friends we share who can also be ears without judgement is incredibly helpful.

I struggle with this, I'm physically disabled, but my more physically abled wife whos income bought is a tiny house in Detroit for a while struggles too. I think that the only way is finding someone who is very open about their struggles and also wants to work on building a life anyway.

It also involved being stuck in England waiting for a boat to come take me home that never did and I think he was so excited about the book partly because it kept me distracted from being upset and missing my wife. Thanks dream-Hbomb, that was a very cool thing of you to do.
