If a job is worth doing, it's worth having dignity and being paid a livable wage to do it. And that goes for EVERY job. I've done data entry. I've scrubbed toilets and showers, I've made sandwiches for inmates. Every job should be treated with dignity and respect.

tried making a protein/fiber powder out of dried red lentils since I'm going back to vegetarian and I'm not sure if there's no taste in the shake I made because it doesn't have a strong bean flavor or because I haven't slept in over 25hrs. Further tests must be run 😂

Esban, a girl of roughly 10 years old wearing jean overalls and her thick hair in loose pigtails, is reading alone in a small library room. Her expression is fixated and serious, she's trying to learn!

Geist, offscreen: Esban?

Geist enters the room, surprised and amused to find Esban here.

Geist: Here you are!

Esban manages to glance up with a smile as Geist enters.

Geist is a 6ft person with a Bongo skull for a head. Their bones are visible through ghostly teal 'flesh'. They are dressed in a black button-up with the sleeves rolled up, and tan slacks. Geist stands next to Esban, leaning over like a proud father to see what she has.

Geist: Look at you! It's nice to see you reading outside of your lessons, kiddo. Though you could be reading somewhere more comfortable... Want to tell me what you found?

Esban, excited, but unable to look away from her book again: Magic stuff!

Esban holds up the book to show Geist the new chapter she's just about to start, Chapter 3, Demons for Dummies. A depiction of a typical red devil is drawn underneath it. On the prior page is strange writing from the previous chapter.

Esban: I figured if you've got all these books on the stuff, I could use them to teach myself magic. Then you won't have to call that witch for help all the time!

Esban has a subtle red reflection in her pupil, the light around the book itself seems to gently bend and be warped in darker waves. She is obviously unaware of the effect it is having on her.

Geist makes an alarmed noise from off screen.

Geist swipes the book and holds it up where Esban cannot reach.

Geist: Ok, new rule; No more library time without permission.

Just Esban's fingers can be seen wiggling at the bottom of the page, trying to reach for her book.

Esban: Oh come ON! I just got to the good parts!

For me the whole point of doing what I'm doing-art is a way of processing life. I don't see the value in outsourcing any element of that.

When I'm looking at someone else's project, if I see an element of the environment [where] they use generative fill or whatever to change something about the scene, it just shuts off the part of my brain that wants to know more about that world. Because I would assume if they're willing to make an arbitrary choice there, they could make an arbitrary choice with literally anything.
