For #Black&Red - this Slate-throated Redstart was a shocking rarity in San Francisco back in 2024, by far the most northern record ever of this Mexico-and-further-south species. (The red form here is the Mexican one - it's orange and then yellow further to the south.) #BirdOfTheDay #birds

The trans women in sports panic has got to be one of the GOP's most successful manufactured culture war campaigns. Somehow they got a lot of people who would otherwise say they support trans rights to somehow fear "fairness" in sports. It's a non-issue.
