[A parody of MR ROGERS’ NEIGHBOURHOOD, in which the kindly Mr Rogers takes us to see local things in his town.]

[title]
MR ROGERS’ NEIGHBOURHOOD

MR ROGERS:

Hi there

2
Today, I’d like to take you to visit some of my neighbours…

[He puts his coat on to leave his house]

3
At a wonderful local event,

[We see the cute toy-town diorama of his village famous from the TV show. The camera pulls out…]

4
The Data Center protest.

[The camera has pulled out further and now we see a huge DATA CENTER at the edge of town].

5
MR ROGERS [joining a crowd protesting outside the Data Center]:

The Data Center is an enormous, windowless, endlessly humming building outside of our town

6
…Which has tripled energy prices, drank all the water, and created four jobs.

7
[to camera, as if kindly explaining to the viewing children]:

Four jobs! Golly!

8
LADY PROTESTOR [probably NAOMI KLEIN, holding a sign]:

In a way, the Data Center is kind of a vivid metaphor for a future we feel locked out of!

9
MR ROGERS [to camera again]:

A metaphor.

10
That’s something that lets us clarify our feelings about something else.

11
LADY PROTESTOR:
How do you feel, Mr Rogers?

MR ROGERS:
I feel like bringing down the government!

12
MR ROGERS [now holding a sign and protesting]:

It’s good to have neighbors.

[ends]

Thank f**king God. The threw the producer that kept doing it out the window. Cause it was so obvious seasons 16-19 that somebody was "driving the car without a license" cause some people stayed that did not deserve it. Lookin' at you Kentaro, Kenya should've shown at NYFW. Hands down.

If Angelo stays after this I will be livid because my pattern I hate will have resurfaced again.

I know people may not like his critiques but it's never to be mean even if it seems petty. It's always to make some better. Build them up. Cause sometimes somebody needs to tear you to shred for you to be that Phoenix you wanna be.

So I am now on season 21, specifically episode 3 of Project Runway and finally somebody says something I have been waiting for them to take into account since season 1. How many times has X been consecutively in the bottom. Thank you Law for finally putting some common sense in there.

It would make life suddenly a lot cheaper though due to some things I had them develop in their lore. Some of which include ultra stretch fabric and the clothing scanner which scan any clothing and calculate a new pattern for any size. It's make clothing buying alot less depressing.

For me the 2 that'd end up existing would be Tundra, bunny shapeshifter goo, and Nathan, the alpaca/ alpaca hybrid that can range from 8'6" to 10'10", and would be quite annoying since they both work for the military in their lore. In fact they're found family siblings.

My brain then goes, "What if they came to your door for something crazy like, 1-2 of your most overpowered OCs/fursonas has become real and we need you to help us keep them from overpowering the country for kicks.

Had a strange moment this morning. I was eating my cheap breakfast of Banquet chicken pot pie and was just kinda staring out the window of my ground floor apartment. Just then a person dressed in military uniform walks by and goes up the stairs next to my apartment.

Nah man this is how you keep the Karen's in check. Just give em a quick scare anytime they're cruel to service workers. You'll become a retail diety overnight

But not only are we of the younger generations expected to choose, we are expected to just allow our lives to waste away as we fight to afford anything. At the point in my life I have understood that I will most likely never own a home and that I'd rather make the most of what I can instead.
000
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
I want to enjoy my life and not hunker down and waste my life away saving every red cent. Older generations never had to make the choice. Thats one thing that is never brought up when people saying younger generations need to work harder. Older generations never had to choose.

AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
And the honest answer to this question is a big fat NO. I'm a millennial that currently makes about $32/hr and I am lucky. I was never effectively taught to save and because of that I couldnt own a home rn.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
The problem is that wording it that way is disingenuous. It should be worded "Do you believe its possible for the majority of people in younger generations to purchase a home in the current economy?" This is a more realistic question because it doesnt make it something subjective like a goal.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 24/09/2026
I really dislike that so much media words the question as something like "Do you believe owning a home before 30 is a realistic goal?" dislike it because of course its a realistic goal. There are still places where houses out in the boonies that someone could realistically buy in this day and age.

So the trade off is, yes my clothes may not be as clean as if I used a front loader but I never have to worry about if the machine breaks mid wash. I can always save my clothes and for a person who's 6'8" and 400+lbs I care very much for my clothes.
000
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Because of that I dislike front load washers because if they break the door won't open and whatever is inside, regardless of how much you care for it, will probably be ruined before someone can actually get it fixed.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
I forgot for maybe an hour longer than I shouldve but it wouldn't have mattered anyway as the front load washer I had been using had something broken inside so the door would not open. Those towel sat for 12 hours before anyone came to fix the washer. Towel molded and destroyed.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
With a toploader it can always be opened and isn't sealed. I can always get my clothes back out. Now unfortunately for me I had thing people might be afraid of happening with a front loader happen with a load of towels. Thank God it was towels.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
However what no washers account for is ADHD. My washer is a cheap old top load washer that has probably stayed in my apartment for 10+ years. It finishes its cycle with little more noise than a cheap fridge compressor but I will still forget to move things.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
But again I said irrational. I used to like them but I realize, now that I live on my own, I would rather have a topload washer. I worked in a big box appliances department. I can say without a doubt that front loader washers are more thorough.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
So I've realized I have a rant every so often, however today's is less logic grounded than most. I do not like front load washers. I understand this is irrational. I understand there is 0 reason that I should dislike them so much but I do. To be completely honest, they work better than toploaders

Was Chelsey's look on "Sheer Genius" bad yes but she had more potential and deserved it far more than Victoria at that point. Both looks were bad and Chelsey's wasnt just a cookie cutter of the last few looks. Her staying pissed me off almost as much as Kentaro in season 16.

If someone circles the drain and is on their 3rd week of being in the bottom, I don't give a flying f*** how much the judges love them, they don't deserve to be there anymore.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
The judges will let this person circle the bottom for 3 consecutive episodes, knocking out designers that deserved to be there far more, and then they'll just let them go until they fall to the bottom again or get to fashion week. Season 17 it was Venny and season 18 it was Victoria.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 17/09/2026
So I am now on season 18 of my catching up with Project runway and I'm noticing a pattern that I'm really starting to hate. The judges will find a favorite. It doesn't matter if this person has done well in the competition at all.

But the twist is that the curse also warps reality around itself. The town essentially forgets that underwear existed in the first place. People that pass through or stay a few nights end up believing they chose to wear or end up having a week bladder so they need them anyway.
000
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
This reminds me of an idea I had back where a town gets cursed so that they can only wear diapers. And I mean like all underwear brought there just becomes diapers. On top of it the town is simultaneously blessed to be a really good place to live. Like every day just makes your life better.

I really hope I can restart "Seaside Resort" because I tried to add a second floor across the whole top of the building. Idk how to pull my mind away for some reason
000
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
The problem is that I need help to not hyperfocus so hard. Not every house needs another room or an added balcony. I didn't need to take the garage part of "Over the garage" make it a room and then proceed to add ANOTHER garage.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
Then I run an auction and my brain goes 'You could get so much more if you just did this or added this,' which then starts the problem. Said problem being that I will then take 2-3 hours TO ADD 1-5 ROOMS. Don't get me wrong I'm having fun. House Flipper 1 /2 would definitely be in my top 10 faves.
100
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 13/09/2026
So I am starting to notice a bad habit forming whenever I play House Flipper 2. I'll purchase a house and go into it with the intention to just clean up and sell furniture and then that be it for the night or so I think.

I understand they may be separate things but if even the dev team is trying to make Resonite more similar to VRChat, it may be time for a course correct and a rebrand.
110
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
See I have the problem of knowing someone on the dev team who for a very long time was trying to make Resonite a better VRChat. They even tried to change hangouts a discord server I was in to be Resonite hangouts.
111
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
Until VRChat does something like what caused the mass exodus from Tumblr or Twitter, Resonite will feast on the scraps because people have their ways and unless something really breaks those, they arent moving.
210
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
The truth of where Resonite is at, even if it's better, is that it is waiting for VRChat to falter, to fuck up royally because people will take a lot. People will hold tight to what they know but even stubbornness has its limit.
110
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
People are used to VRChat it's what they know. Everyone puts their avatars on VRChat. Resonite is a thing that you have to learn and work at to get better with and most people don't see the appeal. Resonite is in Limbo where they try to entice users with better thing after better thing but...
110
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
If I remember correctly Resonite went away and came back better but by that time VRChat was the go to. People were used to it and we all know that the human race is stubborn. "If it ain't broke don't fix it." It's the same problem between iPhone and Android.
110
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
One large factor is 2020, the start of COVID. You all know it, you all hate it but VRChat has persisted since then. People jumped into their game without really a care of understanding and with it it reconnected a community that was disconnected by COVID.
110
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 11/09/2026
So... Imma be the guy who either gets memed on later or completely forgotten cause he was right but Resonite isn't going to surpass VRChat. Now my reasoning isn't just "I like VRChat". No, I genuinely believe that Resonite is the better platform but that's not going to be enough.

Can you do art in all of these, again yes, in moderation but when they're the standard it comes off as, "I gave up whimsy and color to save on cost and time". I want the 90s color back, back before every fast food chain tried to look elegant and sophisticated.
000
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
"Minimalist isn't minimal when it's the standard," is another thing that I hope is becoming widely understood. Just like, "uncovered concrete, beige, and grey need to be shelved for the foreseeable future.". In my opinion, industrialism is just an unfinished building/ room/ style.
111
AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 09/09/2026
I feel like a lot of people will agree with me when I say, "Companies need to stop using brutalism as art.". Brutalism is not art if it is everywhere. If one out every 50 buildings was brutalist, then it's art, but since so many use it to be cost effective, it's become tired and overused.

AvoidedCat74 @avoidedcat74.bsky.social · 07/09/2026
Currently realizing the best explanation of how I wish diapers were drawn more is, "I want you to try and hide your diaper and fail miserably.". Like not as in failing so miserably that normies catch but fail enough that anyone who's dealt with diapers can clock it just by looking.

After drinking the Diapermilk™ the person would quickly turn into a diapercritter. That was the main thought. Also possibly a story where they affect another SCP diaper.
