Great piece man. Thanks for bringing out their story. I'd also love if you could put in some statistics while describing how well they have been playing.

Memes you think of when you can't figure out code and wanna watch football highlights instead.

Every team has a whipping boy, and a majority of times blame it's the defenders and GKs. It's very sad that people fail to realise systematic issues and there being literally no one to replace. There have been many "you miss the sun when it starts to snow" moments when these players get axed.

Kenya produces the world's best runners — but their female athletes face a femicide crisis. Since 2021, four elite women have been killed by their partners. Many others face violence. Travelled to Iten — these athletes' stories deserve to be heard. www.nytimes.com/athletic/591...

Currently posting my old articles on here. Will start making new content in late December. Have got a few Aussie mutuals here on Bsky, hope you'll enjoy this and also point out any inadvertent errors.

The Socceroos' success in producing talents worthy of higher European Leagues and managing to qualify for the World Cup 6 times is an interesting case study for countries like India where football is not the most popular sport. Yes, new followers had peaked on twitter for me, maybe that's how big Indian Football twitter is, but I'm trying to build more international connections here and getting 50 organic followers accross the world in 3-4 days is quite promising in a platform of just 18 million.

I'd prefer not to close Twitter due to selfish reasons as most of my traction is there for me articles and some old mutuals but I've stopped scrolling it altogether due to vile content. It's safer to scroll here and make new friends.

There are many folks who think the popularity of Football is second to Cricket in India. In reality, it's third. In a report on Indian Sports made by a Google-Delloite collab, out of the 655M demographic of Indian sports, Cricket leads with 492M fans, followed by Kabaddi (120M) and Football (85M).

I hope you have seen this post. Very refreshing some people are actively trying to repair and revitalise these grand monuments instead of bringing them down and installing glass shards or concrete blobs in its place. Hopefully we can sustain what makes this beautiful city unique.

Today marks one year since the last victory of the Indian Men's National Team. Yet we keep on painting the rotten leaves and fruits while starving the roots of the tree. It's sad how even big names like Wenger are completely ignorant of the non-existent grassroots and make delusional statements.

Afghanistan has unluckily found itself in the harsher side of the modern world. However, there are many stories of hope and pride from the simple game of football that brings joy to and excites the Afghans. It’s funny seeing people on Twitter be like “Lol Bluesky people will be back in a few days” I think it’s safe to say many won’t fully abandon Twitter, but it’s nice to log onto an app and not worry about seeing blatant racism with 50k likes

This place really feels like the close knit-ish place with real interactions the way it was when I first opened a twitter account back in 2014. Hope it stays this way. Will soon post my best articles here. It's on Mohun Bagan and Asian Football with particular focus on India.

Let's see how this works. I'd prefer to keep this place as a saner twitter with real respectful interactions.
