That’s just normal harpies, real harpies never had arms, The singing just comes from people lumping them together with sirens(very rude to do). The reason they’re known for being so hungry is because they use up so much energy from flying. The “ugly” thing is just slander, all Harpies are beautiful

Pooping is a natural thing, I wouldn't say it makes them gross even it was something only they did. Eating regurgitated food from your parents is a lil gross but to feed your young i think it's still sweet

what examples would you use for gross?

100

Aviator Bean @aviatorbean.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

maybe in the behavior way but birds are beautiful, their feathers are so soft and complicated, unreplicatable, built to soar through the air so gracefully. I like boobs too but also i don’t give them to harpies because they’re already so beautiful they don’t even need em

A flamingo harpy, stalking the salt marshes in search of food

A pencil on paper drawing of a harpy where all the bird parts are specifically flamingo parts

Many descriptions of them call them disgusting or ugly for some reason but you can’t tell me a mix of bird and woman isn’t gonna be the most beautiful thing ever. I’m not a big fan of when they’re given arms either but i’ve seen some depictions of them like centaurs which really just looks bad imo

Aviator Bean @aviatorbean.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

Also don’t like them being depicted as unholy or evil, they originally started as servants of zeus but some ancient idiot started putting them in the underworld which sadly caught on so now some people think they’re vile when they’re really just a force of true neutrality

I love harpies more than almost anything but i’m a big purist because there’s many designs i would only consider harpy adjacent at most,I still love them though. Also the knees go backwards(technically in birds the knees are still forwards but the ankle is what you see so it’s important to keep that)
