Friends: Are you a journalist who has left the business? I want to speak to those who left and did a pivot — but not into comms/PR. If this is you, can you DM me? Thanks!!

I’m attending the @nabj winter board meeting online and Founder @coopty (Allison Davis) just showed a trailer of a film celebrating the organization’s 50th anniversary. It was *amazing*!!! #nabj #mediadiversity #journalism

#Aviation Queen here! How did I fall sleep on @IFlyOAKland, a no-stress #airport option in the Bay Area? It’s easy to navigate & has great local #food options. The support dogs were great for my kid, who has anxiety. Rental car was quick & easy both ways. #iflyoak #travel 1/2🧵

There’s a lot of wisdom in this year’s list of Nieman Labs 2025 predictions for the #journalism industry. This post hit home for me. I remember the early 2000s, when #journalists turned their noses up to digital journalism & social media, calling them fads. AI is the next wave for journalism. 1/🧵

Play with AI like your career depends on it (it does)

"If you are a journalist or a journalism student, you should play with it, a lot, while it’s still open and cheap."

I'm on the ship fighting privileged people who don't understand the concept of line. "I have a flight to catch.” Um we ALL do. So get in line with us. Do NOT test me this early in the morning!! I LOVE karma. The main disembarkation door was jammed so we had to walk down 2 flights of stairs. 1/ 🧵

I wanted to let my #avgeek friends know that while I was on my trip to Portugal, I achieved an #aviation hat trick: New #airline (AF), new #airport (OPO) and *two* new (to me) aircraft (A318 and A220). I also have now flown on all commercial aircraft in service. Please clap. LOL

My friend Brandon Benavides always says let the joy rise. I got it on a conceptual level, but I have *really* felt it here in Portugal. So my goal going forward is to make joy less conceptual and more actual. ❤️

Kids. I think John Wick is my new Die Hard - I never thought any movie series could replace it. I’m watching number three now on my Southwest Airlines flight. I appreciate the airline for having all three available for my viewing pleasure!
