Why aren’t city fans furious with, and demanding the removal of, those in their hierarchy who green lit this cheating?

Fontaines DC playing Toronto next year! Big venue too, didn’t realize they were quite so popular over here (tbh I’ve got no idea how popular they are anywhere, but Grian grew up the next town over from me so closest thing I’ve got to a famous neighbour lol)

I genuinely wouldn't rule it out

It's not bad on the Sevilla website, you just need to use a VPN for Spain sevillafc.es/sevilla-fc-o...

One of the commentators on the Sevilla stream sounds like Emi Buendia

Oh look... they'll get ANOTHER transfer window where I assume they can literally do whatever they want because they know they're going to be sanctioned hard at some point after it closes.

Nah. 3 pts per charge, maxed at 38/year (means 9 years total), banned from Europe the next 5 times they qualify. It’ll be 10 years before they get out of that hole (the same period they cheated for), and no top players will want to play for them. Proper punishment because it makes them irrelevant.
010
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 02/10/2026
Absolutely, all the leaks would've done is made them more careful. The window for the charges is no way the extent of it.

If I was worth over €20m I would definitely have income under €45k coz I’d sure as fuck not be working

They’re basically a Led Zeppelin cover band but with original songs
010
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 30/09/2026
Honestly they’re basically the same band minus the virtuosos 😂 I’m fully aware how weird/terrible a take this is on my part
100
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 30/09/2026
And don’t get me wrong, I have no issue with terrible lyrics in the right context - I love Uriah Heep for example 😂

A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 30/09/2026
See my reply to Teep above, I think it's purely because LZ's lyrics are so bad, but at least GVF acknowledge that they're a glorified tribute band, so it feels a bit more earnest to me
110
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 30/09/2026
I give GVF more rope because they know what they are
110
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 30/09/2026
Let's go with: Brave New World Age of Machine Runway Blues The thing is, they're a glorified tribute band and they know it, I know it, you know it... but I genuinely just prefer them to LZ and the only reason I can think of it is that Plant's lyrics are so unironically childish and terrible.

Inspired by @mrso82.bsky.social's post about the Led Zeppelin Netflix thing, I decided to spend a bit of time listening through their albums. I was familiar with a lot of their singles obviously, but hadn't done a deep dive. I will cop a ton of heat for this, but I prefer GVF 😂

That offers no fast escape. Or resets them back to where they would’ve been without cheating. It renders them completely irrelevant for at least a decade - the same period they were guilty of cheating for. That’s if they financially survive the independent lawsuits without being bankrupt.

I’ll say what I’ve been saying for years: City’s punishment should be irrelevance. Dock them 3 points per guilty charge (342) capped at 38 per year for the next 9 PL seasons they feature in. Revoke their nomination for European representation the next 5 times they qualify.

Also, other clubs will likely sue City off the back of this, and win based on the precedents set elsewhere. They could be bankrupted, genuinely, becuase there’s a fair chance their owners won’t have any interest in paying those bills.

A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 30/09/2026
Legal issues might well exist for players and staff who took additional payment under the table to hide expenses though. They’ll be the ones who would be worth watching for tax related issue.
100
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 30/09/2026
That’s highly unlikely though. If city’s owners tell a sponsor they’ll add £50m or whatever on top, and they do actually do it, and the money is officially accounted for, and taxes are paid, there are no fraud issues beyond breaking premier league rules.
100
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
It’s the opposite that would be illegal - HIDING revenue, not adding more. They didn’t just make up additional money, it was actually injected. They just misattributed the source to get around PL rules.
100
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
Yes I’ve read that, but I don’t think it’s saying what you think it’s saying. Sponsor gives city £10m, city owners throw £50m on top of it and say it’s a £60m sponsorship. That goes on the books as £60m. Taxes would be paid on that where due, instead of the £10m. So more taxes, not less.
101
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
Not illegal. Against the PL rules, not against the actual law.
100
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
They just misattributed the source as a third party when it was themselves. So they would’ve been paying the taxes due on it or they’d not have been reporting it in their books.
000
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
It was declared though, because they literally reported it as revenue to get around the financial rules.
200
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
Yeah it depends whether it was undeclared or declared but the source misrepresented. Mancini for example, he doesn’t seem concerned so he probably declared his other income. There’s a chance they were careful to the extent it was declared by anyone being paid at their insistence I suppose.
100
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
Well, I mean techncially City would've overpaid their taxes on it if they were declaring revenues that weren't real. It's the opposit, under-declaring, that gets you in the crosshairs.
100
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
(Not because their owners can't afford it, but more because they'll probably say fuck it, nope, not funding this nonsense)
010
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
AFAIK it's not the PL that decides the sanctions, it's an independent committee - specifically for that reason. The lawsuits will likely be against City, and there's a very bad historical set of precedents that don't favour them. Not joking, but they could be bankrupted as fallout from this.
110
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 29/09/2026
The issue is that the PL IS the clubs, and all the clubs pay for anything the PL has to pay out. So if everyone sued the PL for 50m and won, it'd cost ever club more than the 50m. More likely that clubs sue Man City in the same way Burnley sued Everton (and won)

They shouldn’t be in UEFA for no reason other than they’re in Asia. It’s not Europe’s problem teams in their confederation refused to play them. This was made Ireland’s problem when it should never have been. No politics in football needs to mean no teams moving confederation due to politics.

A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 27/09/2026
I see the Israeli fa said, rightly, that “separation between football and politics must be maintained” So I assume they’ll be withdrawing from UEFA since the only reason they’re in it is political?

Ive enjoyed everything of theirs I’ve heard, and I have no idea why I’m so averse to actually taking a proper listen. Maybe I’ll check the show out!

I have genuinely never listened to a single led zeppelin album or song intentionally in my entire life. I know about half a dozen of their songs, but never had the slightest itch to dig into them.

Was curious so checked the team on LiveScore, and I legitimately only know 4 of the players in the Irish starting xi and bench combined. Now, I don’t follow international football to even the smallest degree, but I did assume I’d at least recognize the names of significantly more than that.

Finally watched The Odyssey the other day. Good flick. Not as good as the hype suggests, but definitey worth a watch. Typical recent Nolan though, for the first hour or so I wasn't really too into it - felt a bit wanky tbh - but it creeps up on you.

Currently watching The Ens of Oak Street. Now, I love a silly dino action romp as much as the next elder millennial, but I am just not jiving with this at all. It’s just tonally all over the place, the characters are all idiots, Ewan mcgregor’s accent is hard to stomach. and it’s just… I dunno 😂

Not sure it was ever in doubt that City would be found guilty on this stuff... where the fuck are the sanctions?

Bro just casually dropped the name of the Scottish play while standing in a theatre

Never saw an issue with it. Some people are just weird about certain things on their own, and I don't really know why. Going to the cinema is another.

...later on in the window, because he's who we really wanted. And they decided that it was worth sacrificing Garnacho for 6 months to guarantee getting Rogers in and Jackson out. So the plan was always we terminate early, he goes to wherever in Jan, we get Jackson, they get paid.
000
A Villa Fan in Canada @avfc.ca · 24/09/2026
Tin foil hat time... Was the Garnacho loan an intentional smoke screen to let us get Jackson later on in the window and show it as unrelated to Rogers? i.e. We took Garnacho with a conditional obligation, told them we probably wouldn't trigger it, but that we'd give them similar money for Jackson...
