"I think this fairly solid classic game that holds up mostly well deserves a remake!" Me:

I've been saying that for ages now. Hell, even the original creator/director was never interested in doing a new Banjo unless it could move the collectathon forward

"Oh but unless you're using an emulator you have to look back and forth at the screens constantly!" Sounds like you haven't met my good friend, the Select button

once you get past the(not even that steep) learning curve, you'll find yourself playing the best mechanical sequel to SF64 and perhaps even the best Star Fox game

there are folks who think using MK8 DK is being disingenuous but let's be real, this design was just kinda scuffed after the Rare era

Didn't y'all just reveal the new one in June

The world if Platinum was still allowed to make Star Fox games after Zero:

Ahmed A @averagefez.bsky.social · 25/06/2026

even the Star Fox Zero version has more charisma than that

Heya, I'm Ahmed. I make dumb fun drawings. Or at least I try to. Here's 10 of them.

"You don't understand, by remaking this current gen game, they're testing the waters to see if there's still an audience for this series!" Mmm, funny, these "big comeback" games were made and they've done just fine, without the need for remakes to proceed any of them

Sort of? It's more the choice to give them quasi-realistic lighting and textures that feels counterintuitive to the intent. I feel like the best way to describe the difference is by comparing to the Sparks of Hope DLC, which I feel evolves the look of Ray 2/3 much better

Ahmed A @averagefez.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

Call me melodramatic but it's hard to look at that Rayman model knowing we just had what was damn near perfection back in '23

010

Ahmed A @averagefez.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

it's hard to explain but these two feel very similar in terms of how uncanny they look

030

Ahmed A @averagefez.bsky.social · 02/06/2026

why do they keep making cool Mega outfits for Roll if they're never gonna make her playable

Given what happened with SCOOB, I don't blame him

Ahmed A @averagefez.bsky.social · 23/05/2026

I don't mind the inverted colors but I wish there were stronger accent colors across the whole design and not just the sticks

"Yamamoto" refers to Yu Yamamoto, one of the in-house artists at Nintendo EPD. He's done illustration and character design for several Nintendo projects over the years, including ARMS, Metroid Dread, Mario and DK Bananza, to name a few.

That's only half of the story. Katt was still a carefree flirt during that time and had a tendency to get herself into trouble, relying on Falco to come to her aid until he had enough and told her to become more self-reliant.

is that a motherf*cking star fox guard reference

Are you aware that this is one of the bosses in SF1

210

Ahmed A @averagefez.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

still better than what happened to his boss

Ahmed A @averagefez.bsky.social · 07/05/2026

They're not awful but I see people say they look like the old SNES art, and I just don't see it. They're missing a lot of the specific stylized qualities of the puppets and don't really evoke that cheesy Thunderbirds charm in the footage. Feels like a totally different aesthetic at play.
