Are you fucking kidding me. This Internet outage started last Friday, April 24th and they’ve extended their repair estimate daily since then. And now apparently it’ll be another week. I know Comcast sucks, but surely it’s better than this.

A service outage alert from Quantum Fiber Internet by AT&T estimating that the internet outage (which began April 24) will be repaired by May 5.

Unfortunately in my excitement to make another basket, I was careless with my placement of the reed I wasn't soaking yet and, well...

So yesterday I took an online basket weaving class and it was amazing, learned some new techniques. The kit with all the materials arrived in good time, and even though the class started at 6am (!) my time, totally worth it.

5/8 flat reed in a 10x10 lattice, the base of the basket.

The raised square sides of the basket. Undyed reed with three rows or round twining and two of dyed blue reed.

The body of the backet is woven, square bottom with a more rounded top. The stakes (vertical reeds) and ready to be trimmed and folded down, and covered with the half-round rim.

The finished backet with four raised feet, ceramic handles, and double-lashed rim.

Depression suuuuuucks, and I didn't know I had this fantasy, also, until I read someone else articulating it.

I wish someone could take one look at how sick I am and go “oh my god, we need to get you to a hospital!” and then when we get there I get rushed into surgery and the surgeons say “it’s a good thing you brought her here when you did, this is a seriously advanced case” and then they put me under and spend the next ten hours pulling metres of long, sticky black strands of gunk out of my body, throwing it immediately into an incinerator so that it can’t infect anyone else. And then they could stitch me back up and I could rest a few days, and when I leave the hospital everyone can see how much better I am and they congratulate me saying “well done, you’ve been so brave, I’m so glad you’re ok. I love you.”"

I walked past this turtle digging with her hind legs and got a good look at the claws on them. I wonder what she’s doing. Laying eggs? When do turtles do that? I’ll check on her progress when I leave work later today.

I knit a snake-purse/a living room hide the other night. Snek fits. It looks awful, but in my defense I only had size 50 needles in straights and I still somehow managed to make a shaped, in-the-round-ish thing. And it fits snek snugly which is what he prefers.
