PHANTASM- One of my earliest forays into horror that really connected with me as a young lad. Cool villain, eerie dreamlike atmosphere, great soundtrack and a relatable protagonist for a kid on the cusp of being teen made it really approachable as someone who wasn’t into horror until later.

First 3rd place win in One Piece tonight with Kaido! My loss was against one of our best players so I can’t be too down on myself about that. Pulled an alt art card from my winnings.

I completely checked out of Alien with all the newer stuff. I heard Earth is alright so maybe down the line il check it out but the last truly great Alien thing I remember is James Stokoe’s “Dead Orbit”. Highly reccommend it.

ALIEN- As I’ve grown older the first film in the franchise continues to age like the finest of wine. The tension, the set design, the overall feel of the movie just works on so many levels. Plus Ellen Ripley risks her life against a terrifying creature to save her cat. That’s special to me.

Seriously THE NIGHT OF THE LIVING DUCK was a canon event for me of things I’d grow obsessed with

DAFFY DUCK’S QUACKBUSTERS- A formative piece of media for me. Easily my favorite Looney Tunes compilation with THE NIGHT OF THE LIVING DUCK being one of my favorite cartoons ever. Established my love of the Looney Tunes and monsters from a young age. A genuine all timer

CALL ME TONIGHT- A favorite of mine. A fun horror themed ecchi with cool monster designs and some fun references to the horror genre throughout. Funny, weird and running at a lean 30 minutes it’s a real nice watch if you fancy something a bit sleazier.

SCOOBY-DOO ON ZOMBIE ISLAND- This was an EVENT. Cartoon Network was hyping this up and I remember running home after trick or treating to watch it. Like many I grew up loving Scooby-Doo and he had encountered real monsters before but nothing that had this much genuine feeling of horror. Fantastic

THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE- I saw this one later in life, at the drive-in no less, and it’s become genuinely one of my favorite films in general. It just hits like nothing else and like many have discussed despite its name it’s not “exactly” what you think. A genuine descent into madness

DEATH BECOMES HER- A stone cold classic. Genuinely funny and bizarre with effects that still look amazing to this day. Everyone is so good in this but Streep is the MVP with all the body horror comedy she was delivering despite the grueling process to make it happen with the effects.

BEHIND THE MASK: THE RISE OF LESLIE VERNON- This was an instant favorite when I first watched it. A fun slasher that walks to the line between mockumentary and genuine love letter to the genre that isn’t afraid to be silly but doesn’t go so far as it comes off as a full blown parody

SLIME CITY MASSACRE- The follow up to SLIME CITY that is bigger and even grosser with a post apocalyptic theme. Really fun movie that turns into action film at times and even has a fun about to the gold standard of melt movies STREET TRASH

Gigan is another all timer Godzilla rival for me, especially because he can walk that line of goofy and cool so easily. Plus probably one of the coolest modern versions with his FW appearance.

Yuji Kaida isn’t just one of my favorite Godzilla artists, he’s an all timer in general. His artwork for Ghouls N’ Ghosts has lived in my head rent free for decades.

I give King Ghidorah grief but I do love him as Godzilla’s most iconic rival. As someone who enjoys drawing silly expressions having multiple heads is a feast.

Watched BUFFET INFINITY tonight. Really fun analog horror with some comedy in the mix. It fell apart at the end for me but still highly recommend giving it a watch because a majority of it is very good.

I “can” draw Godzilla looking cool and all scary and stuff but it’s hard not to draw him as a big goofball. Kaiju are meant to be big and silly in my eyes!
