FF8 has some major problems to be sure, and the Draw system is just a big fat sack of nope for me, but I'll always find it charming regardless. I remember the intro being so epic and it's stayed with me for years. The story is pretty nuts, the characters iconic, the music superb. Def not a bad game.

Do you remember how it felt when that first Big Bang happened? In my party, Rydia was KOed immediately and the rest of the party was at critical. I remember as a kid that my eyes were wide and I knew I was screwed. I was frantically throwing Cure 4s from Rosa as much as possible. Lol

It wasn't my first game by far, since that was on the Atari, but Final Fantasy IV was the one that made me a lifelong JRPG gamer and is one of the major inspirations for Zenogaias. I'll never forget beating the final boss at way past my bedtime as a kid playing on my SNES. Amazing memory. 😀

Probably the Thaumetech (sp?) mechanic which works like FF7's Materia to an extent. I'd also say the presentation/sprite animations/story as well. There's some really good stuff in that game. I'm off to work, but I think any coverage of that game would be great. 😀

One Fenix Down which is releasing in November, Rave Heart+, Dovees ReQuest which released. I'd like to also mention a game called Neverspring Chronicles Phoenix Down where the dev put so much work into it even after its release, but ultimately had to leave gamedev mostly due to financial issues.

The UI feels closer to what I want! I should stylize the attack's lights to be closer to a unique bar later but for now I'm satisfied I liked the glass but the upcoming action select menu might've clashed too hard with it, I feel. That and I can color code stuff depending on action more brilliantly
