@lewisgoodall.com quick question about your Friday @thenewsagents.co.uk . When you were asking about net zero and the costs on poor people. Why didn’t you ask about decoupling of gas from electricity costs? Ask it to the anti net zero parties. It feels you’re just using populist questions

@lewisgoodall.com just catching up on @thenewsagents.co.uk … why did you give the Minister for Energy a easy ride? You focused on Daily Mail style questions(net zero) rather than asking why can’t we decouple gas from electricity pricing which makes net zero super easy?

I don't see this as sophisticated... this is data transformation from one source to another and both sides have APIs... if this is sophisticated for LLMs we are so cooked (as the youth would say)

Good thing a lot of the development lifecycle depends on @github.com. Yet again, GitHub is "degraded". In this case, it says the Selenium account is suspended... p.s. Just a reminder that Microsoft are trying to own the whole SDLC and everything is getting worse from VS Code to Github to NPM
It is a screenshot of a github action log saying that they selenium account is suspended

Brilliant from @ellabaron.bsky.social. ⚠️ Brexit was made possible by decades of economic failure for large parts of the country. 📉 Brexit has worsened those inequalities and hit these regions hardest. 🤕 Now Farage is prospering from the chaos which he sowed.

My paid work is also having those issues and it's non-trivial. It could literally be a scaling issue but my frustration is that these companies laid off good engineers that could have solved this problem.

For me, the uptime isn't a thing I care about until I need to use that service. Today, I need to run Github Actions and that is down. Last week I was doing a lot of PRs and that was down... the anecdotal data for me is frustrating. I get I am doing a lot of open source so should be happy it is free

I am curious how much money companies are losing due to uptime not being met and having to pay their customers compensation. For example, Github has an ongoing incident that is now in it's 3rd day where it's not rendering all PRs. This is on top of the other down time.
