Father, electrician, 💙, ♾️, and antifascist. If you're an elected official, I intend to be the pebble in your shoe, especially if you're MAGA or non-progressive.

Yeah. It's quite easy to become a millionaire, and only slightly harder to do ethically, but damn near impossible to become a billionaire ethically.

#MySpace created an entire generation of web design professionals, purely by accident. And now, in 2026, it returns.

Y'all Gen Z kids don't know what it was like. The entire social hierarchy back in high school could be upended in a day. Wars were started based who was or wasn't in someone's Top 8, seemingly endless battles between #TeamJacob and #TeamEdward, hours spent studying HTML to get the profile design.

They still have their weapon of last resort, which is to refuse to swear in the midterm winners. Johnson already did it when he blocked and delayed the swearing in of Rep. Adelita Grijalva during the 2025 shutdown.

A meme image of the Grim Reaper walking with Mitch McConnell and turning to stare at Lindsey Graham as he walks by. Mitch gives the Reaper a look of confusion and anger.

Horrendous. In a 2-1 vote, the D.C. Circuit has restored the Trump administration's 2025 expansion of expedited removal for noncitizens, allowing the DHS to apply expedited removal nationwide to the full extent Congress authorized.

Like, on a personal level, if I find someone repugnant, I don't associate myself with them. I don't speak to them, I don't congregate in their spaces, I don't follow them on social media.

We are forced to continue to pretend that they and we can exist in the same space without being at each other's throats, and nobody can explain why the pretense hasn't been dropped.

The thing is, their side has also said the same thing to us. They find us morally repugnant, and they know the feeling is mutual. We're at an impasse. What's to be done about it? Nobody has come up with a good answer for it.

Okay guys, I did it! I own $1 of PLTR! Now, who's got a question to ask? They'll be doing an investor Q&A during their Q1 Earnings Call livestream on May 4th, and I can ask them anything! So, reply to this with your questions!

They've got their Q1 earnings call coming up on May 4th. They're taking questions from investors on the Robinhood app for leadership to answer during that call. I'm considering buying $1 of their stock just to ask a question. 1/2

For anyone who is unfamiliar, the "Disney Look" is the appearance policy for employees of Disney parks. No tats, no piercings, cleanshaven, cheerful and bright demeanor at all times, etc.

What's next, they'll just consider anyone dissatisfied with the status quo as a threat? Will they make the "Disney Look" a national policy?

Disgusting. This is not going to look good for the future. The GOP needs to be punished. *Severely*. This indicates that will not happen if Democrats should win in the midterms and beyond.

So then, why do the Dems insist, not only on pretending otherwise, but also on telling *us* to pretend along with them? What purpose does it serve?
000 0
Robby Birtch @autistopheles.bsky.social · 16/01/2026
But worse than that, is the fact that they expect *us* to play along with the farce. They know who MAGA is, they know who Trump and his cronies are, they know what they stand for. We know who MAGA and Trump are. We know what they stand for. MAGA and Trump know who they are and what they stand for.

I really wish the Dems at the Federal level would stop acting as though MAGA and the Trump Regime is made up of people who believe in and support the rule of law, because it's not.

My point is, if you're that scared shitless of MAGA and Trump, then maybe, just maybe, you shouldn't be in Congress.

I say this, fully aware that I have never been on the receiving end of a MAGA death threat, but then again I'm not high profile enough to be a valid target, but I digress.

Like, why are Dems such cowards when it comes to ICE? Are you that scared of fascists and of fighting them, @schumer.senate.gov, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social? Then just come out and say it! I could at least respect the honesty!

Take the soldiers who fought the Nazis in WW2, as an example. While most cultures and historical accounts in the West paint them as heroes, the survivors who escaped called them villains.

For today's lamentation, I submit that we live in a world with no heroes. The saddest thing is that heroes never truly existed. Heroes and villains alike are cultural constructs. One culture's heroes are the villains of others.

What saddens me is that not only can this administration openly lie to Congress, and everyone, and even though penalties exist, and Congress has the power to enforce them, and the mechanisms exist, but the only thing missing is the will to actually enforce them.

Indeed. In such a politics, power flows not upward in response to facts, but downward as an emanation from Dear Leader Strongman. Trump isn't trying to dominate *reality* reality, just *political* reality. He's trying to make people not care about objective reality.

These are THE moves! Especially the one about enlarging the House, the 435 cap was set back in 1929. US Population has tripled since then. Either the number of Representatives and districts need to increase or the population needs to decrease to what it was in the 1920s.

Why do you think @mcuban.bsky.social avoids Bluesky, even though he has an account? He doesn't like the criticism he gets from ordinary people, whom he views as peasants. It's the impertinence of it all.

Why do y'all think they love Curtis Yarvin's Neo-Monarchist claptrap? Imagine being a noble in the feudal era and you're just strolling through a town, and some peasant you've never met before walks up to you and criticizes you! The gall! The nerve! The impertinence!

Robby Birtch @autistopheles.bsky.social · 04/12/2025
Exactly. They want people to like them, desperately. But they want to be liked in the way that a noble might have been adored by the peasantry back in the feudal era. Adored, but from afar. Never approached, never challenged.

You ever seen one of these guys go try to do an open mic night at a comedy club? They go and tell the same jokes they tell at the office in front of a crowd of real people, and get booed off the stage.

That's exactly what it is. Imagine being born into wealth. Nobody ever tells you no. Nobody tells you your ideas are stupid. You are completely isolated from ever living in the real world.

"This time, for sure!" -Republican voters as they spin the wheel one more time.

When all this is over, are the people who survive going to learn anything? My biggest fear is that they won't. Republican voters are like gamblers at a roulette table. They go all in on red every spin, every election day, hoping to hit the jackpot, but it never pays out and the House always wins.
