My wife and I enjoyed the show (we teach high school and much of it rings true for us), but we definitely struggled with the elements you mention. I suppose if there’s a 3-season arc, Carrie’s autonomy could be regained… I don’t know but you got me wondering. 150

It’s popular to criticize the POV switch, but I love it and I think the criticism is b/c King said he wrote himself into a corner, and critics see that switch as a cop-out. It’s not. It’s a brilliant solution that expands the scope and amps up the suspense. It’s masterful. 070
