New personal painting. Inspired by the scene in Fantasia that I feel like I’ve built my entire art style and personality around.

A white Pegasus floats in a pond underneath the shade of hanging wisteria. She holds a wing out over her foal who is floating in a patch of sunlight in front of her

I think we’re long past the “ai bad because of stealing” argument and fully in the “ai is also actively and tangibly destroying our planet why are you even trying to use it as an art tool at this point” stage

But, you're welcome!! I think the easiest thing to remember is like...most people are just happy for there to be an event about Blorbo (especially if they're a rarer character/ship!!!!) - they won't mind that you're new. ❤️🥰 Have fun!!!!! ❤️

I'm always here to encourage new fandom events 😈 <- is one of the people who write more bc fandom events make me remember I love a background character 🤭

Nari | authenticaussie @authenticaussie.bsky.social · 02/05/2026

You may not get a lot of people to start with (especially if with a rarepair haha;;) but some people really love having events as an excuse to write for characters they don't normally write for :3 and it's always a good excuse for yourself, as well! 🤭

Nari | authenticaussie @authenticaussie.bsky.social · 02/05/2026

See if any events are looking for a co-mod !! Otherwise, the way I started doing it was I just looked into a bunch of "versions" of the type of event I wanted (eg. character week, big bang, art swaps etc) and wrote down what they all had in common/what I wanted to use.

Coloured OC illustration, a bard standing below an archway, playing a lute while two people surround to admire her. She has dark brown skin, dark hair with grey streaks, a halo behind her head and golden piercings. Above her are hanging round lamps with floral and crescent shapes and draping tapestry with beads. A man lounges at her feet clutching at a loose silk piece of her dress and a female drow sits on the stairs gazing at her with her back to the viewer. The archway has two Grecian columns and a arch frame covered in florals and star patterns.

As a writer, purely visual socmed are actively hostile or, at minimum, basically useless. It's already hard enough trying to get people invested in your work - I love tumblr's asks and ask culture and the joy that comes with it. Where else am I supposed to go? God. This just sucks.

Nari | authenticaussie @authenticaussie.bsky.social · 17/03/2026

Like. Lowkey I hate twitter etc okay. There's no ability to do longform ANYTHING here, there's no interaction on your work beyond retweets - no commentary, no dialogue exchange, no tags - and tumblr is THE only website that does asks as a major part of its platform!

I couldn’t touch you if I tried, I couldn’t touch you if I wanted to Posting my damijonuary submission just in the nick of time 😅 @missiletoe.bsky.social #Damijonuart #Damijon #DamianWayne #JonathanKent #DC #DCcomics

Fancomic of Superboy (Jon Kent) and Robin (Damian Wayne). Bursts of colors and light swirl around two splashing panels. The first panel shows John looking, starry-eyes, at Damian. The second panel shows the pair sitting on the edge of a roof, looking at the glittering skyline at sunset. The first panel is paired with a starburst containing the word “thoughts” and the second with a starburst containing the word “lights.”

Damian is shown in Jon’s x-ray POV, but a panel is placed over the upper half of Damian’s face that shows his bright green eyes. Below this, Jon can see Damian’s heart, beating steadily in a BMP-BMP-BMP rhythm. A starburst next to Damian’s eyes reads “colors”, a starburst by his beating heart reads “sounds.”

Jon is shown blushing fiercely, bursts of light popping around and inside his chest. Next to him are the words: “superpowers fail me now.”

PEOPLE CAN DRAW PLATONIC STUFF AS WELL, EVEN IF THEY ALSO SHIP THEM. It's not a terrible thing to reblog a good fic or art you like, of the relationship "style" you like, and tag it as romantic OR platonic depending on how you view those characters! Good god

000

Nari | authenticaussie @authenticaussie.bsky.social · 07/11/2025

I feel like there's this idea that if you ship people you only EVER see them as romantic. And it forms the basis as to why people get mad about "ew this person drew cute ""seemingly"" platonic art but ACTUALLY they ship them how nasty" and it's like. Bro? No? I can do ship fic AND platonic fic?

110

Nari | authenticaussie @authenticaussie.bsky.social · 07/11/2025

God it disgusts me when people act like buying stuff from someone who makes art of - a completely non-offensive - ship (they don't like) means it's so terrible and nasty and it's a "trick". LIKE. THEY HAVE SEPERATED THEIR ACCOUNTS BECAUSE YOU ARE HARRASSING THEM. FUCK OFF.

My roommate makes one that's literally just like. Broccoli and cream/coconut cream that I really like. Also another I think that's just called peasant's soup??? It's like. Chickpeas + tomatoes + whatever other veggies u want (we do celery, carrots, n'stuff) + some lemon. Yummy

You'know? My mom is so SO lucky I'm her daughter and I'm not a git. Idk, I talk about how lucky I am to have her, a lot, right, but also. Also. She wouldn't be able to do SHIT with half of her life without me being here to pick up the slack and organise meetings and make phone calls. Like. Bruv.

strong enough to rise above 🗡️✨ my piece for @opmilfzine.bsky.social !! pre-orders open: opmomszine.bigcartel.com

An illustration of Boa Hancock (either as Medusa or in a Zoan form)

She's standing in the middle of a pond of water lilies, the snakes of her hair covering her bare top half, her bottom half is covered in a simple sash, her jolly roger tattooed on her thighs. She's gripping a stone spear aimed at her, eyes locked unto the POV onlooker.

In front and behind her, are various stone statues of men in different eras of clothing, each of them broken off and worn down, having been defeated in the moments where they thought they could corner her in her own home, where she had chosen to hide away after escaping the horrors of mankind.
