Happy new year folks, here are some cats.

A black and white cat (Abigail), tightly curled up in order to fit herself into a ceramic flower pot. Her face is tucked into her paws with some whiskers sticking out. The flowers growing inside it do not look particularly happy. The pot is surrounded by other plants and sitting on stone tiles.

A very fluffy black cat (Nona) is lying on a teal carpet looking up at the camera. She has pointy ears, a large tummy and skinny legs. Her back feet extend over the edge of the carpet and onto floorboards, and there are flowers visible at the top of the frame.

While he’s here you should visit Melbourne museum! It has some amazing dinosaurs, most especially this stegosaurus. To this day it remains one of the most stunning things I’ve ever seen. (This photo doesn’t do it justice)

This is a favourite of ours when we don’t have the energy for anything fancy. We use a packet of frozen peas and ignore the cream and croutons. Real chicken stock is best if you have it. Have also subbed butter for EVOO in a pinch. Ends up being 4 ingredients in 30 mins and really tasty!

Our extremely adorable 15 year old rescue cat has a bed on my desk. We got her around Christmas last year and it’s been so good to see her go from hiding under our bed for a week straight to being this relaxed in just a few months.

Been seeing that guy's "I found exploits in Bsky and they won't fix them!!1!" post going around again. I am also a security researcher, and I do not take the issues raised particularly seriously. I would barely call them exploits, and it's completely understandable that they aren't a priority.

Had my first Weber kettle for a few weeks now and absolutely loving it. Started with burgers (not pictured), then a tomahawk, pork shoulder (for pulling), and last night did grilled chicken and cabbage wedges.

Dinner last night was an absolutely incredible Canard à La presse. 2 week dry-aged duck, skin crisped on a rotisserie, carved rare at the table then carcass pressed. Breasts finished out back but sauce made table side by the head chef. 11/10 culinary experience.
