Inflation is real. It eats into wages and breaks supply chains. But it's not solved by unemployment. A tight labour market and rising wages don't cause inflation; they signal resources are stretched. The answer is capacity, not slack: public investment in energy, transport, housing. #MMT #economics

Unemployment is a Policy Choice MMT asserts that unemployment is a sign that government spending is insufficient. It is not the result of lazy workers; it is a political choice. We see the human cost in stories like Christine's, a capable teacher discarded by the system. buff.ly/mCiQpxq

Why do we pay taxes? It's not to "fund" spending. Taxes serve three main purposes: 1. They create demand for the currency. 2. They allow the government to manage inflation by reducing private spending power. 3. They can be used to discourage activities and redistribute wealth. buff.ly/id9jrdB

Your Savings, Their Deficit When the government spends more than it taxes, it is injecting money into the economy. That money becomes our savings. A government "surplus" means they are taking more money out of the economy than they are putting in. buff.ly/GbDZWPZ

What Are the Real Limits? If a monetarily sovereign government isn't limited by money, what does? Real resources. Labour. Raw materials. The actual productive capacity of our economy. These are the real constraints, often exposed by supply-side pressures. buff.ly/id9jrdB
