Rising bond yields are mainly a function of expectations about rising policy interest rates. There are some other minor factors, but it has nothing to do with a collapse in the USD, default risk or anything like that. If the USD collapsed, the following line would be steeply downward sloping.

Other than Torrens University, the institution with which we have been most closely linked in recent years is Bennington College, Vermont. Bennington is famous for its approach to liberal arts education, and also notable as the home of Karl Polanyi, author of the classic The Great Transformation.

Modern Money Lab has been a registered not-for-profit in Australia since more or less when we started. It is much harder to get tax-deductibility status, which is essentially full charity status, for donations from Australian taxpayers.

The fruits of austerity for the Nationals in New Zealand/Aotearoa will be a big electoral defeat. Everywhere you look, pretty much, major parties are slowly destroying themselves, and - to simplify for brevity - it is essentially because they don't understand modern money.

The European Central Bank deregulates in the name of competition between banks to make risky loans and calls it resilience. We will be talking about resilience in Brussels on June 28th. Our definition of resilience will differ markedly from that of the ECB.
