Just finished Big Walk tonight! It's 100% my game of the year so far. Very clever design throughout the whole game, stays strong with its puzzles, all the way through to the end. Just a complete joy to interact with anything in this game. Very much worth your time!

Super Mario 64 The frustrations of the camera and the controls, the way half of the levels just look like tech demos, and the increasing amount of insta-death pits - it all adds up to a miserable time. Though revolutionary when released, it doesn't hold up. And yet Banjo-Kazooie still does.

Been thinking about Hadestown since I saw it on Friday. Absolutely loved it, it's as much about the story told, as it is about the importance of why we tell stories. In our current cultural moment, where this reason is heavily obscured, it was a lovely reminder for me.

Creating lore is quickly becoming my favourite form of writing. Getting to expand on the world in a way that's only somewhat related to the plot is such a joy. If it's for the plot, then it solves a problem. But lore gets to exist outside of that need. And I love it for that! #lore #gameDev

#gameDev advice I hate hearing!! 😡 "You should make a game in a popular genre instead!" No, you shouldn't. Make a game in a genre you're passionate about. Having insight into the genre trumps how hot the genre is. And if the project doesn't appeal to you, how likely are you to complete it?

🐿️ Endless You One of my favourite things about the #indieGame we're making is that its structure is the same zoomed in as it is zoomed out. The game loop is: Teaching Moments > Testing the Player. Across the whole game, the six factories teach the player for the Tower, the final test! #gameDev
