Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 09/10/2025This is glorious. I'm sad I won't see you, but very happy for you 010

Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 08/10/2025My friend was actually kind enough to make this for me! I believe it is a cosplay friendship treasure hunt type of situation. You collect one from all of your friends but I got a special guest name tag 😊 010

Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 13/01/2025Anything really! You can do it on any of the Meta sites but Discord etc. could also apply here 000
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 13/01/2025Thank you! Someone gets it! I feel like everyone acts differently once it's in that setting so I prefer to talk to people individually. Even something like Bluesky is better because it doesn't have the element of being behind closed doors. 010
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 08/01/2025Absolutely right! I feel like coming back with an apology each time you have a gap in content just draws attention to it/could potentially become repetitive for the people seeing your stuff. Whereas they'll just be happy to see you again if you jump straight back into it instead! 010
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 08/01/2025I don't do the same type of content but can still relate. My best advice would be: all of those feelings are valid, take the break and then come back to it when you're ready. No need to acknowledge that gap with your audience. No one else is going to be as hung up on what you're doing as you are :) 070
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 06/01/2025Also, yes, I will hold your finger while you hold space for the local cinema 110
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 06/01/2025I do this a few times a year at minimum and I love it. No need to struggle with finding someone who's into a movie as much as you are, just go alone! Bonus points if you order snacks and eat them all. 110
Reposted by ChristieCryptmaster @thecryptmaster.bsky.social · 05/01/2025If you've enjoyed Cryptmaster, please consider sharing the news. Despite an IGF award, a 95% Steam rating and a free demo, the game has gone mostly unnoticed by both press and players. It's not just a typing game and there may still be people out there who would enjoy it! 5730051644
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025That's cool! I didn't have a strong sense of who was reading submissions. Plus you get a free ticket to go hang out with peers if you're in Sydney or can travel! 200
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025That’s an interesting point. I don’t think I’ve been nominated for an award in any other context so I didn’t really think of that! 010
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025I don’t recommend the gremlins either but they demand a shoutout at times haha Thank you so much!! 010
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025I agree about the system failing. I’m eternally grateful for everyone I’ve learned from, but can’t help but feel that I could have had more support if editors were treated fairly. I submitted work last year and made it as a finalist, so I’ll try again with my very limited 2024 portfolio. 120
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025I didn’t know that for a while either! Last year was the first year I submitted something. If it’s the journalism type of fluff, then maybe you should still consider trying? 210
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you as a finalist many a time now, so it’s nice to hear you’ve got the same gremlin thoughts that I do before submitting your work. That’s also a hot tip there. I reflect on other parts of my life, so why wouldn’t I do that to decide what to write this year? Thanks! 110
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025If you’ve never tried before and you’re proud of some work you did last year, then I’d definitely recommend it. It’s very easy to enter and nothing to lose, as you say 010
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025Ooh. Is it because you’re not interested in awards or is there another reason? 100
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025Ah, that makes sense. That's a helpful insight though! 010
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025You definitely should! *she says under a thread about being unsure whether to do so herself* But you should take a stab! 000
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 05/01/2025Question for games media people: do you enter your work into awards (The Lizzies) if you didn't write much/don't think you wrote anything good that year? Asking for a friend. 830
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 30/12/2024Sneaking in at the last minute with a review of Short Trip. Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 13/12/2024Thank you! It has taken me so long to piece together what I already know and I still feel like I'm missing so much/things change so quickly. It's easy to feel left in the dark if you don't have close contacts that you're checking in with, which I feel is a lot of us in this industry specifically 120
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 13/12/2024This is also something I haven't attempted because I feel like I'm not at 'that' level as a journalist. There's one way to find out! 110
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 13/12/2024To both! But you do have a great point about the secret third option of writing longer content for my own platforms 😊 010
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 13/12/2024I'm so much happier when I write about a concept that didn't come from a PR email, but have also found over the last year that there's increasingly less space for these kinds of pitches to be accepted. What do we do?! 110
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 13/12/2024 I don't know what to be happier about today: my student loan indexation being reduced or The Witcher 4 trailer. Dreams really do come true. 050
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 08/12/2024Someone has probably already said this but one of my favourite things about Bluesky is that clicking your profile picture in the side bar takes you to your profile instead of 'Add an existing account' or 'Log out'. I never got used to that on Satan's newsfeed. 010

Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 20/08/2024I need someone to drag me to the media room at #PAXAUS this year. I’ve attended multiple cons at MCEC as media and never set foot in that room. It is a myth to me at this point. 000
Christie @auralynxian.bsky.social · 07/04/2024Took a break from my phone this week and realised that my messages, emails & social media all give me a little spike of anxiety when I open them. Those spikes add up over time and I feel so much less overwhelmed without them. So, um, that's good info to have and do nothing with. 000
