'As this retrospective (made concurrent to his role in The Bad Seeds) makes clear, this Savage was a gentleman, with a penchant for old songs learned in the pubs his parents ran in rural Victoria State' Conway Savage - Too Dark To See: Solo and Collaborative Recordings 1992–2010 buff.ly/S7dFdzE

Whilst I dislike what Heather said, Heather does not deserve the police investigating. Free speech is for all. Should Heather wish, The Free Speech Union has offered to represent if a member.

As can we, in the Shire. However, I wish to make some of my own hands. Thought you were living in foreign parts, D-Wizzz. Back in Ireland now?

A January treat for myself landed today, just after I'd finished carving out my second ever spoon. Quite enjoying carving and whittling away in the shed. Messy, but fun.

We're fortunate here in Aberdeenshire, farms now have their own shops for produce and there's still fish/sea-food landing/processing at small harbours like Gourdon. Do tend to pay a bit more than supermarkets though, but choice is greater.

Little Hampden, Brickfield Road, #Stonehaven. Always has some @afc.co.uk graffiti on the army cadets' wall. It's where we scored goals for our clubs and country as kids. #jumpersforgoalposts

Strider and the hobbits reach the edge of the Chetwood and walk out into the open country. The ground here is lower than in the Bree-land behind them, and is beginning to get boggy.

This club is well run, very community spirited and have developed amenities for the wider community, as well as their own. Having been around football, I know these folks are the exception rather than the rule. They're always thinking about 10 years in advance, with the community.

Ay, it's all expensive from a certain level. Work with football youth-coaches and parents spend a small fortune for their kids training, gear etc. The club helps families that struggle with some of the costs, and this is local youth clubs, not pro/semi-pro level.

A wonderful film, watched it earlier this year. I must read the book it's based on.

Hudson, vet tells us he's to lose some weight. He's not overly happy at the 'meagre' supply of kibbles he gets before bedtime. He complains quite loudly.

Watchmen from Amon Dîn reach Minas Tirith: Elves are riding toward the city, and are already approaching the walls of the Pelennor. ‘At last they have come,’ replies Aragorn. ‘Let all the City be made ready!’

Balustrade Lanyard. I was blocked by him over on what was the Twitter, for calling him that. Is/was he a Tory Glasgow Councillor?

I will have you know, D-Wiz, I'm in a sandstone house from the 1800s. Cold, draughty and expensive to heat, probably better to be in a straw house. 😔 I'll have a great Hogmanay, already have beer, fire will be on, I'll be wearing my kilt...
