Trump fired Admiral Linda Lee Fagen, Coast Guard Commandant earlier this year. Now the new Acting Commandant is aligning with Trump regime policies. Incredibly,“the Coast Guard declined to address why its new policy no longer characterizes swastikas, nooses and the Confederate flag as hate symbols.”

This ain’t about abortion, it’s about punishing folks who can’t afford private care and women who dare to demand control over their own bodies. Shutting down clinics means more undiagnosed cancer, more untreated STIs, and more folks left out here with nowhere to turn.

If I was running a local news org, I'd pivot from breathlessly reporting the latest cuts and DOGE happenings and angling every bit of news to "here are the local economy impacts on this latest drastic cut in DC." Move the stakes out of the realm of the abstract.
