Worth noting is how every library system operates differently, and at mine, they do not want to deal with digital licenses and the like, they ONLY want physical games I have pushed FOR YEARS the adoption of PS+, primarily the cost saving benefits, and it has regularly fallen on deaf ears...

Given how nowadays public libraries are basically the ONLY third space left for young people, the move was effectively a death blow to anime clubs, which was pivotal in neutering interest in the subject across NA in the first place And the same thing is happening here with games & game culture...

Just putting this out there: as a kid whose early videogame exposure was defined by what you could borrow from the public library, if I owned a non-Steam gaming storefront, I’d work out a deal with Kanopy, or set up a similar game-focused service and partner with public libraries.
